No, my daughter’s major was only listed when she clicked the “Print Admit Letter” button. The portal message was missing her major and just said “Congratulations!! You have been admitted to the major of in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences for Fall 2024.”

Someone on Reddit said they got waitlisted for Data Science. I thought it was acceptances only for early round. Can people get waitlisted or denied this early?

Congratulations!

Is that Computer Science or Computer Engineering? Is Computer Engineering typically easier to get than Computer Science?

Last year waitlists did not come out till March 27 but it is always possible.

Denials posted March 28.

Does anybody have a hard time accessing the portal?

I got a chancellors scholarship and on my letter it said that it’s the highest scholarship but shouldn’t it be the regents scholarship? or does UCR not do regents anymore

UCR still lists Regents on their scholarship page and it was awarded last year. Congratulations on the Chancellor’s scholarship.

Just checked the portal. My daughter got waitlisted for MS+BS Electrical Engineering.

Sorry to hear about the Waitlist. I just started a Waitlist/Appeal discussion thread for UCR along with waitlist list for the last 3 years. Also saw a CS major that was waitlisted on Reddit.

Is Regents & Chancellor’s scholarship announce only in decision day or later also they will announce?

Regents was announced later in the month for UCR last year. Usually the Chancellor and UCR achievement scholarships were posted with the decision. Again, this is how it has been the past few years but the UCR seems to change their timeline often.

My S24 got Robotics, instead of the Computer Science that he wanted. I called admissions and I was told that he could contact his “Advisor” on the first day of enrollment and request a change in major. What if he still doesn’t get it on that day?

Also, Is it considered unethical to give an SIR to more than one university at the same time? There are many people who put down an SIR, but still do not enroll, isn’t it?

The is a change of major Procedure listed below but I would contact BCOE advising before enrolling to determine if the student completes the requirements, are they guaranteed the major change.

Completion of ENGL 001A with C or better, and a C or better in CS 009A preferred and CS 009BC, and completion of the following with at least 3.00 GPA:

  • CS 009A preferred
  • CS 009BC preferred
  • MATH 009A or MATH 09HA preferred
  • And any additional Math/ Science/Engineering/CS courses (if taken)
