@futureeechick I’m leaning toward UCR but I’m still waiting on UCSC to make my final decision. Have you chosen a school yet?
Nope and I’m deciding between those two right now. I applied to UCSB but for a different major and I don’t know if I’m okay with that kind of just want to get a denial to make my choice easier. If you get into UCSC will you definitely go there?
i know where this is headed:) future chick and Avery are going to be roommates, while sa chill rents my couch!
Thank god for college confidential
Yeahh I totally get the feeling! Good luck, I hope that everything gets sorted out for you though
I’m so torn about UCSC because it’s so beautiful and different from socal but being that far from my friends and family and bf makes me hesitant. I’m in the same boat as you, kind of hoping for a denial so I can just be settled on UCR. Did you already get accepted to UCSC?
Yes! Oh my god that is exactly how I feel it’s too far away from home
but I also feel like it’ll remind me of home since I’m from SB I’m torn really. And I was accepted.
@uchopeful414 that’d make for a good story!
Congrats on the acceptance! I know I didn’t think this would be such a hard decision :-< have you visited all of the campuses already?
Glen Mor and Oban are not on my campus apartments list. Here’s why : https://www.facebook.com/UCRiverside/posts/10151899033718086
Also, studying in the Rivera Library seems to be a no go. Which leaves me to study at the Science Library, clear across campus =(.
I haven’t visited either yet. I’m going to UCSC next thurs/fri and highlander day on the 9th.
That url doesn’t work friend. Seems as if they censored part of it.
I may attend highlander day idk. I’m volunteering at my cc that day at 4
They’re so different from each other but they’re both cool campuses! Hopefully it’ll help you with your decision
Thanks! I hope I can figure it out after visiting them both.
@Eterion I’m going from gwc too but am hitching a ride with someone already. If you’re a guy and in need of a possible roommate we can talk tho.
oh its fb - apparently that’s censored lol. so type it out, and then /UCRiverside/posts/10151899033718086
I wouldn’t mind sharing an apartment, but prefer my own room (so single occupancy / okay to share apt).
I don’t think anyone is up for sharing a room tbh. We’re adults and rent is cheap in riverside, no need to…
@nothingpersnal - yes, rent is very cheap - one of the things I was looking at when comparing rent near other campuses that have offered me admission. In the rare case (according to UCR admission rep) that I’m not able to find housing on-campus, one of the factors I considered was the cost of off-campus housing. But even as a transfer student, I’d like to spend my first year there on-campus.
Yes I would definitely need an apartment, sharing a room with someone is a bit of uncomfortable for me. I also consider girl roommates (I’m a girl btw).
I mean prefer*
Wow this whole time sachill I thought you were a man. You can still rent my couch though. But in all seriousness I wouldn’t mind getting a two bedroom cuz rent would be so much easier to handle, But I have special accommodations for me and my son(he’s covered in hair and walks on all fours). I mean it would have to be someone I got along with for me to share an apartment.
@uchopeful414 - I’m not sure if I’m the only one that noticed this, but your profile pic went from a faceshot to bars. ItI think I can still make out a silhouette of a face though (behind the bars).
Anyone else click on that link? It’s essentially a listing of all the haunted places on campus that UCR students have noticed throughout the year. And it’s oddly enough, on a post from the official UCR facebook page.
