Yeah. @Eterion, there’s this college confidential gang that jumps me everytime I say the words “UCR doesn’t read personal statements”. Gets the riled up, next thing you know I’m getting warned and put in jail.
I am definitely getting an apartment. My SO is moving with me and won’t be a ucr student when i start. He us more than likely going to apply this next year though
What’s an SO? Sounds official. If you want you and your so can rent my living room. 500$ college condfidential discount
SO = significant other (means your special other person).
@uchopeful414 - $500??? you offered $300 for your couch yesterday - how much did supply/demand fluctuate to justify a $200 increase? cough slumlord cough
UCR is haunted. Oban and Glen Mor and East Lothian (although I don’t see myself staying in a dorm) is haunted.
Anyway, submitted my campus housing app. Honestly, if I secure housing, I might be inclined to stay even if another UC offers me a spot, since housing is worse at UCI/UCLA/UCSD
500$ for two people is pretty good if you ask me 300$ couch included is also a steal lol.
Exactly. UCI apartments are what you would expect for a nice city in Orange County. UCR is giving me the best run for the free money I’m getting
@uchopeful414 - Yes, that’s one of the things I considered was the off campus housing costs - UCR area you can snag a private room off campus at a rate half of what you’d get for a CLOSET near UCLA, UCSD or UCI.
UCR has a awesome aid package - the housing benefit from my GI Bill practically covers any single-occupancy apartment unit on campus.
Same. But not cuz I’m a veteran just because I’m broke af
Okay serious question are they friendly ghosts?
Also yes I don’t think I’ll get much/any money so if I go to UCR I can actually afford to pay rent either on/off campus.

From the sounds of it they’re just bored .-.
@uchopeful414 - Dude the first spot listed is why I didn’t even bother applying for Glen Mor 2 (plus there was red lettering about how prior residence hall residents would get preference). But yea, history shows that building things over haunted sites does not generally end well.
@futureeechick - There’s a Paranormal Society club at UCR.
I read a article/report where they did some paranormal investigation at the Rivera library - supposedly the basement, 3rd and 4th floor is haunted - but the 4th floor has the most activity. 3rd floor restrooms is supposedly haunted by a male ghost that flickers on and off the lights - as well as guys who are sitting in the stalls may feel cold hands around their neck/shoulders. Yea, I think I’ll pass on studying there. Orbach Science Library - clear across campus - seems to be my study place, if not my apartment.
Idk I wouldn’t mind having a set of cold hands as I struggle to push one out. Keep me cool as the blood rushes to my head
Loooooool. Couples pricing is a harsh thing. Man I kind if want to join the paranormal society for the lols
We all know the struggle is real as soon as that stall door closes. And those ghost hands will come in handy when it comes time to holding me against the seat, cuz I have difficulty as it is when things get serious .-.
I’m thinking about doing it myself now that he mentioned it. Be the next agent mulder
Not sure how active that paranormal society thing is - I checked out their website/Facebook and last post was October 2015. Their founder’s last year as a student was also in 2015.
I need ideas on starting my own club on campus. Gotta start thinking now about “extracurricular”/high-impact activities for my UCR medical school app.
^^ exactly. I’m looking into clubs and research to boost my app for animal behaviorism at Davis after I get my ba
Joining clubs will also give me an opportunity to meet more other students at UCR.
Ok so I’ve decided I’m going to register and make a club when I get there. Directly associated with my major and my intended advanced degree.
It’s going to do with psychology and animals.
@sachill that’s my plan too I don’t want to just be a loner the whole time I’m there
@uchopeful414 sounds like you maybe interested in being a veterinarian? Haha
Yes I do not want to be a loner at school I need friendssss in order to survive.
Noo. No veterinarian for me. Animal behaviorism. Or also known as comperative psychology. I plan to eventually help people have a better understanding of their pet companions, so they can really bond on a much higher level. And directly use it to treat psychological disorders, and relieve a lot of trauma after say family death, rape, or other disturbing experience.
@uchopeful414 - you’re welcome for helping spark that starting a club idea =). Also, how long are you in CC jail for? Do you notice any features or accessibility to the site that is different than a “non-jailed” member? My forum icon is rather plain, so I might want to add some color to it too.
