@Eterion UV Towers is my number 1 choice as of now tbh but we’ll see what happens.it’s close enough to campus so that I don’t need a car (plus with the amount of break-ins I don’t know how smart it is to have one there) and thus I can save money for food and rent.
@nothingpersnal - Yea been reading about the number of break ins, robberies, stabbings, shootings lol. I mean, I’ve been deployed to some pretty hot areas in the world, but all that is behind me now, I’m a student and heck, I’m not even allowed to carry. UCR is quickly making their way down my ranked listing of colleges that have offered me admission.
UCI on the other hand, is in one of America’s safest cities - sure, crime near a college tends to pick up regardless of where you are, but UCR sure does a good job hiding their crime rate data from prospective students.
@eterion Since it’s a public university it’s not hard to find tbh http://police-statistics.universityofcalifornia.edu/
Just don’t put yourself in bad situations and you should be fine, don’t have the best car in the lot and don’t have the worst, don’t be out late alone where you shouldn’t’, all that stuff. People look for easy targets, make yourself as difficult a person to target as posssible
I’m going to carry a Louisville slugger in my backpack .-. Just for good luck
I still haven’t heard anything from UCR. I’m about ready to give up. ~X(
@041191 If it helps any, it seems CHASS is taking the longest for their acceptance announcement. gf has 3.3 and still hasn’t heard back from that college as a psych major.
looking for a roomate or roommates want to get a apartment for 2016. I’m a 21 year old guy. I care about my grades but i also want to have some fun at riverside. Let me know if anyone needs a roommate!!
@vitamin66 Gonna need more info than that if you expect a roommate. What apartment complex, what price, if by having fun at riverside does that entail parties at the apartment? If so how late and often will these be. stuff like that
I’m Really flexible on the price and place. Also wouldn’t mind party’s at the complex but not all the time obviously I don’t want trash the place I live in. I’m very social but I alway want roommates who care about getting some studying done as well
Hondas are the most car jacked car here in California. Doesn’t seem to matter what year or anything, tjeh get taken. I had friends who had a crap bucket '82 and it got car jacked. I was contemplating getting 04, but now I worry it will dissappear, ha ha.
In Latino culture, Hondas are the easiest to find and part out. Since everyone’s got a Honda Civic, they steal them cuz everyone will want what they got.
No I’m not prejudice. I myself am Mexican, but this is just a fact .-.
Also used to drive a civic, but upgraded to a Mazda 3
@uchopeful414 Yeah, it seems like that’s the case, especially with the car culture here in san diego… It seems like it’s mostly the older bodies that are so popular too. I don’t hear a lot about the newer honda civics getting taken.
Usually the higher class Mexicans got those new fancy smancy Honda civics, which probably come with better security than those older ones. I believe that you can just jam a screw driver into the ignition then turn it lol $-) the older ones that is
It seems like most people on here have been admitted already, but has anyone NOT heard anything back yet? I applied as a global studies major. On Sunday my portal welcome page changed and briefly showed the “tell us what you think!” survey, but I couldn’t SIR! Was hoping it mean I was admitted but around an hour later it changed back to the default message did this happen to anyone else?
@nothingpersnal most people who were accepted were from chass. Myself included. Psych major as wel.
Anyone know why the TAG requirements for Business majors shot up so high this year? Wen’t from a 3.1 required GPA to a 3.5. Anyone know if the Business department got that much better recently?
I will pay someone 500$ for a quarter if you teach me how to math
@uchopeful414 - I didn’t know you were a Psych major - all this time, I thought you were a Business major - which made sense when you offered to rent out your couch and then your living room. Haha. psych major here too.
Lol right? Making a business to needy college students. But right on, psych major is the ultimate major. Just not looking forward to pre calc
Pre-calc is a beautiful part of lower division mathematics. I’m biased because I enjoyed the trig identities though. The topics there are important to Calculus with Log, Exp, and Series, which you may or may not take depending on school, I suppose.
Reminds me of a Psych major taking Multivariate Calc during summer from UCSD, and I was like what.
Still nothing from UCR , although they responded to my schedule change for a non required class. =P~
