do we know how many people in ca that were waitlisted eventually got in? or is that too specific? same thing with oos and intl applicants

i also want to know if there’s waitlist admits by major

@ucrbound:

Waitlist data is not broken out by residency or majors. Only information listed is usually the number waitlisted, the number that opt in and the number admitted.

Only admissions would have this information which I have never seen published.

has ucsd ever released waitlist decisions on weekends?

also do they consider senior grades when choosing who to admit off the waitlist?

i don’t think they do

No, they did not ask for your Senior grades when opting into the waitlist.

There are no set dates/days of the week or times for when waitlist admits are posted.

My daughter was accepted off the WL on Thursday afternoon while we were sitting in the car getting ready to drive to our hotel after doing a campus tour of UCSB. We were planning on doing UC Riverside the next day but switched our plans to tour SD instead. She got a text or email notification to check her portal. OOS Geology/Marine Biology Revelle. She said YES!!

Congrats! My daughter is in-state marine bio -hoping this is a good sign!

I have a question about the waitlist data regarding UC schools. When it says “number of waitlisted students admitted”, does it include the people who have given admission from the waitlist but turned it down?

The number of waitlisted students admitted is just that, the number admitted. The number of admitted waitlisted students that enrolled is not listed on the CDS.

do they re-review your application just like they do for regular admissions? or is it just purely based on institutional needs?

The UC’s state that the waitlist process is just a continuation of the original admission process so institutional priorities are taken into consideration for both initial and waitlist admits.

what would be considered institutional priorities? or at least, what is primarily considered to an institutional priority?
