I don’t see why UCSD would trouble themselves with different housing messages though. Just to drive us crazy I guess.

There is definitely a correlation between the housing message and the probability of acceptance. I have looked through many of previous year threads and everyone who got the message, got in. However, correlation does not imply causation therefore it is not a PROVEN indicator. Also, everyone try and post whether you got the message and if you got in and those who didn’t get the new message, state whether or not you got in as well. Hopefully Friday is the day! Best of luck!

Got the changed message last week
Quick question guys - if we are asked to maintain a GPA (3.4) for something like UCD TAG, is that for this semesters gpa or are we looking at gpa holistically (all semesters including final).
We have only had one batch so far when there are usually three, right? So maybe those who have the “bad” message are in the third batch. I know bioengineering and such impacted majors are usually the last to be notified.
@liveinthelbc I think there was only 2 last year even though 3 were planned because of some technical difficulty. Maybe there will only be 2 this year too.
I think I’m in the third wave because they want to give me a large amount of financial aid. 
Hey guys, I’m new here but I’ve been silently observing what goes on, I got the “good” housing message, Sociology major (3.5ish gpa). ucsd is my first choice so I’m extremely anxious for Friday (if that even is the day decisions are sent out, hopefully it is). Best of luck to all!
Have any CS majors gotten the “good” housing message? I know CS is impacted.
@HappyLifeMachine CS major here with the “good” housing message. Although i have a 4.00 gpa I didn’t really expect to be accepted, so who knows. For all I know, IF the housing message is any indicator at all, it could mean that I possibly got accepted into my alternate choice of major which isn’t impacted and I don’t really care for. So I’m indifferent towards the whole housing message “trick.” Only time will tell.
@HappyLifeMachine yeah I’m also CS and i got the “good” housing message. I do have a 3.94 w/ all pre-req’s completed(except for the two that weren’t articulated at my school) but we won’t really know anything for sure until Friday

To be fair, all those who got the bad message got into UCLA or UCB last year(except one if I recall)…
This housing message has nothing to do with other schools.
@bmirza991 thats not what he meant haha he meant that a lot of the applicants who got rejected with a bad housing msg last yr ended up getting accepted into the top uc’s
I hope more acceptances come out soon, especially since Transfer Triton Day is May 9th. The Schools App feed for admitted UCSD students is lacking in transfer students. It’s a little difficult to relate to the freshmen on there. I want to share the excitement with more people who have similar experiences to mine. I wish you all the best of luck!!
