UC San Diego Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

OK, I’m done speculating, I’m just going to wait til the end of the month

@friedchips How does the appeals process work by the way?

I spoke to a UCSD transfer advisor and she mentioned that ucsd will be sending off some of its final decisions on friday, April 17th. She also mentioned that a majority of transfer students hadn’t heard a respnose.

@HappyLifeMachine i’m assuming the same way as freshman appeals? for ucsd, you send it online and you write like a 200 word letter to appeal your decision. you need to provide NEW information that you didn’t mention on your original application (ex. medical conditions, financial situation, activities)

@yoshi707 so that means 4/17 isn’t the last batch then right?

damn… 200 words? I wrote an awesome 2 page appeal just in case i get rejected from any of the schools. My ECs have strengthened a literal tenfolds.

edit: plus a strong recommendation from one of my most recent professors.

Has anyone known anyone to receive acceptance with an appeal?

@FuturePAinCA check this out: http://■■■■■■■■■■■■/home/fall-2014-last-year-transfer-waitlist-appeal-cancellation-numbers

@friedchips thank you! That’s a higher number then I thought. I assumed appeal wasn’t worth it, but I guess it is /:slight_smile:

Hi, I have been following this thread for a while. My housing message changed to the good one Last Friday which was the 10th but today it suddenly went back to the old one :frowning: Did anyone’s message change too?

my bad, i was mistakened, i still have the bad one… SORRY FOR SPAM

Mine stayed the same.

I have the “Good” one BTW.

Those numbers don’t look too high to me. Yes, appeal, but chances of reversal are always low. And just know it really puts you in limbo during the wait period.

lol I just thought the numbers were like 1 in 100. Haha. Yes, they are still low, but if someone has new appealing information, it is definitely worth it, or that student may be wondering “what if.”

Ppl do win appeals. Good luck!
