UC San Diego Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

so just to be clear, if you didnt get the housing message you probably didnt get in?

@luckie1367, Mine also works fine now…I am so nervous these days.

So from what I got from these threads is that Davis, SD, LA, and Irvine are coming out in the 17th (or at least a batch)?
I’m kinda glad that almost all of them are coming at once (Berkeley -_-)
I’m so tired of waiting. Let’s get these over with already!
@potholes
Though that’s the speculation, don’t lose hope! These sort of things don’t usually work anyways.

I do believe we should do a correlation and regression test. We must know the R and R^2 values between housing and acceptances. ;))

Hey guys I have a question… Last week I had a midterm for a class that I’m currently taking (physics 2). I did really bad and because we only have a midterm and a final, basically I need to get a perfect score on the final to pass the class… I called ucsd and spoke to my admission officer and after reviewing my transcript she told me it was ok for me to drop from the class, that it shouldnt affect my admission status (I’m still waiting for a decision btw) …

Just making sure, did I speak to the right person? (An admission officer) or should I talk to someone else from ucsd about my case? What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Is physics 2 a major prep course? What is your major?

It depends on the terms of your admittance.

My major is Structural Engineering, so yeah it is a prep course… I have U-link, so she told me that if I mantain at least an overall gpa of 3.0 and a 2.0 this semester I shouldn’t have any problem (I was part of the first generation of Ulink, so the agreement is different from the current one)…

That gave me a big relief, however, I don’t know if she was the right person to call, I mean , I know she’s an admission officer, but, is there anyone else I could talk to?

Does anyone know the wait list statistics? Like how many from the wait list get offered admission?

i know that there’s a gpa cut off. though we dont know the min gpa you’ll need

also beware of the fact that a series usually transfers as a series. If you end up not taking physics 2, you might have to retake the whole series at UCSD.

@aenca13 you should ask for the person’s name you spoke to so you can refer to her if she ends up giving you false information? in the case you end up getting rejected for missing that class, you can appeal with this

cries im going to start writing my appeal rn

does anybody know the deadline for the corrections on fafsa? is there even a due date?

Just be optimistic, whatever happens, happened for a reason

@aenca13 Hello! My major is Biochemistry. I also have the older version of ULink. I got accepted on the 13th of March. I couldn’t get into the 2nd half of general biology (I was #2 on the waitlist, and then got bumped up to #1 but still couldn’t get in. ) I don’t think I had a problem.

@jazzzyjam you could take the rest of the sequence in the fall at a CCC. My bio sequence has to be compete for it to transfer and it fulfills 4 quarters of bio at UCSD so that’s what I’m planning on doing.

@IWannaMakeDrugs Yea, I was planning on doing in the summer to complete it at my CC. But I was hoping for the regular semester so I can take easier classes in the summer. UCSD or UCR hasn’t mention that I had to finish it. The only school that had mentioned something was UCR but that was for ochem 2.

Whats your major again?
