^well lol.
@friedchips 3.50, UC-UC transfer from UCSB
I doubt the housing message has anything to do with our admissions decision. For all we know, the people who received the “good” housing message are the ones in the second batch. While those with the “bad” housing message, like myself, could be in the third one? Let’s be optimistic about this whole thing and let’s avoid stressing out about it.
@AAMP31B Well thats a bit comforting lol…
UCSD is my dream school. I’ll appeal if I have to!!
Oh man I have the Haunted Housing message
@Mustang012 I thought that as well but looking at last year’s thread people without the “good” message were rejected in the same second batch when people with the message were accepted.
Fact is the message change does not seen random. Some people have it, some people don’t, and other’s have had their message change in the middle of the week. The meaning we assign the message is all conjecture and calling UCSD won’t get you any closer to an answer.
At this point we just need to wait and try not to stress over it. One more day! Hopefully. Maybe.
oh man is it Friday yet? Anyone know what time the decisions will be posted?
Do you guys think it helps in any way if we attended the webinars? I keep thinking there has to be a reason they have us sign in and record our names. Like maybe it shows special interest in their campus?
I had the housing message change so I am praying that I am part of the second batch. I just want to know already…this is torture. b-(
It seems like it was around 4pm last year. I really hope it’s morning this year around
*vomits
@pickmee824 I think someone said toward around 4-5pm a few pages back (based on last year’s decisions release).
Ahh thats so late but I guess as long as its tomorrow then thank God.
Good luck to everyone!
I think either way, transferring is pretty impressive and we should all be proud to have gotten this far. If its not UCSD, then there are other schools or just wait another year, its not the end of the world. Stay positive
…there’s no stopping us. amirite.
How sure do u guys think admissions will be released tmrw?? this week went by sooo slow because I was anxious for tmrw to come and for admissions to not be released tmrw will super bum me out
@jhern17 if that’s the case then it sucks to hear that I’ll be denied. Despite having a good GPA, all pre-reqs done and an inspirational personal statement (was told by two professors and a counselor that read my essay).
Well, I wish you all the best of luck and I just hope we’re wrong about the whole housing thing.
Good luck to you all.
I went back to my app to reread my app essay because I had forgotten what it was about.
Bad idea. I thought I read them about a thousand times. How could I have missed all these grammatical errors?
omg I did that too lol I hate my essays . don’t torture yourself @MizuRue
I don’t mind my essays, but I definitely see where I could’ve done a whole lot better. That’s what I get for writing them 2 days beforehand.
I had debated up until that moment even bothering trying to go back to school. Guess I’ll see tomorrow if it was meant to be!
@MizuRue @pickmee824
@QueSeraSera04 I think if your parent link is gone then its kinda just an indicator that you are in tomorrows batch. I did not supply parent info either (cuz im 28 lol) and my housing message changed (im not applying for housing,i just checked to see the response id get) the same day the options for my parent info disappeared. I am hoping I am right about this cuz I really just want to find out about this already.
So if your parent info link is still showing on the main page and you have the “bad” housing message then I wouldn’t freak out because it probably means your application isn’t done yet and youll be in the last batch.
This is all speculation though but there seems to be three diff possibilities out there on the thread.
@husdi619 Decisions will be posted next week?
I would still agree with the speculation that
- The appearance of the “Parent Link”, which should locate on the main page, is the indicator showing whether the school had made their decision about admission.
- The “good” and “bad” housing message show whether you’re admitted or not.
- Based on last year’s situation, the decision will be posted tomorrow (04/17/2015 Friday) at around 4-5pm.
About the “cut-off line”, personally, I guess, there is such thing and it’s getting higher each year.
This year, I would go for 3.45 on a 4.0 GPA scale since a lot of people applied for transfer and seems like
that everyone’s grade is “okay”.
For myself,
Major: Computer Science B.S
GPA: 3.81(up till 204 Fall) and 3.76 now
IGETC: Will finish the 7-course pattern by the end of spring
Prep: Will finish by the end of spring
Activities: Volunteers(a lot), and internship
Essay: I would say “impressive”
Finally,
I sincerely hope that most of us get admitted!
Cheers.
@QueSeraSera04 im pretty sure ucsd doesnt even look at essays??
