@tarrrrssss why didnt you go to a CCC then? i honestly find what you say kinda offensive since it really depends on what type of classes you take…i hope you know that the level of math and science courses at certain community colleges can be comparable to the same classes at good universities

Essay: It was informal but it came from the heart. I talked about how I worked 2 jobs and went to school full time for 4 years. I also talked about my TA and research experience and how I want to be a professor and a researcher.
@jazzzyjam I went on the UCSD website and wrote admission appeal and there is a form that you can submit on myapplication which will start the whole process
@WTFScreenName I also got the undeclared even though I applied for CE and CS as the alternative. I get a little jealous when I see people that got straight into the CE or CS programs haha. I didn’t have all my pre-reqs either. I also started way at the bottom of math. Am finishing up Calc 2 (I don’t even remember if there’s more math pre-reqs than that) but I didn’t have Physics 2. I didn’t realize it till later that I had only gotten in as undeclared and it made me SO disappointed!
I am trying to decide whether to go in undeclared and hope for the best, or declare the mathematics - computer science major. I guess we’ll see what UCI says!
@igotlucky, I’ve been reading a lot about it and it’s definitely possible but there has to be spaces open. I think you have to take 8 of the lower division courses with a 3.8 GPA then apply, and hope to god there’s space. Kind of risky, but if I don’t get into UCI then I am going to try anyway or just declare mathematics - computer science
It is kind of painful knowing there will be ANOTHER application process after this one!! It’s like only getting half admitted!
@tarrrrssss Lol yeah no. CC is just as rigorous. They always get a bad rap just because there’s no competition to get in.

@wantsaneducation Can you give me some advice? Im currently a freshman as of right now, planning to transfer for fall of 2016. Dream school is UCLA/UCSD. major: biochemistry. What’s the minimum gpa for this major and what’s the difference between major gpa and overall gpa? what if my gpa as of right now is 3.7… is my chance slim to get in? And what extracurriculars did you do? Part time job? volunteering? etc.
