@TonyStark93 what’s your major? are you into the whole party scene?
Im also having a hard time choosing between ucsb and ucsd. All the stories about SD being socially dead is turning me off.

What does it mean to get into UCSD as undeclared. I got in as E E but my friend who applied for engineering got accepted but as undeclared not EE. Is this bad.
Got in for my alternate major which I guess means I was denied to the school of engineering. I tagged to Irvine and am fairly dead-set on going there anyway but applied out of curiosity.

Well, I got in for my alternate major (visual arts - media) and not computer science (which is, understandably impacted). I’m not sure if I’ll still accept, but hey, I got something.

@ellieplusplus lol, i also applied for CE, albeit as my alternative. For UCSD, we need Calc III and Linear Algebra/Differential Equations. I was planning on taking those wherever I end up. I’d stay for another year at my CC, but I really wanted to start on upper division courses already (tired of so much math for so many semesters straight, including summer haha).
I too hadn’t realized it was undeclared until I really took a good look. Heck, I didn’t even realize I was accepted right away. I just figured this big ugly mascot in the picture was just greeting me that the decisions were made or something, idk, haha.
I looked into the the mathematics - computer science major already (earlier today), and unfortunately it is mostly math based. Very little CS stuff, I was disappointed to find out. I really wish it was more balanced, otherwise I would have definitely considered it… but I kinda wanted to move on from focusing so much on purely mathematical concepts (maybe because I’m just burned out on it).
Other than that, I’ve read people throwing around the possibility of minoring in CS, but dunno.
Any other major (such as mechanical engineering or electrical engineering etc) that I would be interested in are impacted as well.
So I’m assuming if we were to attend UCSD, we would be forced to major and graduate as some kind of non-engineering based major if there was no space availability. Which would be really funny, considering the courses we been taking are probably an overkill for say, something like English or Sociology. At that point, I’d feel like my efforts would be marginalized, considering I could have transferred long ago, if that ended up happening.
I’m gonna try to get in contact with someone at UCSD who could possibly respond to these sorts of concerns and whether we’d even have the slightest of chances as transfer to eventually declare as CE or CS majors. I’ll probably make a decision based on their response.
Either way, waiting on UCI as well.
I’ll probably end up at Davis, if I can’t get any clear answers. I really would rather not major as an art or music major at UCSD, in all honesty - I use those areas in my life to relax
@unknown10108 I got into biochem with a 3.62 GPA and all the pre reqs done. I didn’t volunteer much and I only joined one club. I did however work part time and very close to full time in some periods.
so i got waitlisted but it doesnt say whether it is just to get into ucsd or my major does anyone know?

I don’t wanna end up going to a school I’m going to regret going to.
UCSB I’ve already been to twice during Halloween and Spring Break and boy was it fun.
I haven’t visited UCSD but I will this Friday. But from what I heard from multiple people is that UCSD is SOCIALLY DEAD.
