waaa when do they send you the link to the site with other transfer students? i needa find roommates and stuff since im living in the village (assuming i go to ucsd, which is like 90% likely)

Forgot to come back and post earlier. Had the “good” housing message and did get accepted. Hopefully this helps next year’s applicants.
Soooo I got wait listed for being under the required 3.53 GPA for UC-UC transfers. I had a 3.5 when I applied and after winter quarter I now have a 3.55,
@ttop220 is a 3.53 gpa actually a requirement? ive never heard about that
@friedchips Yeah, only for UC-UC transfers though. I guess they liked me a little bit because they waitlisted me at least!
sure the material is same, we have competition, curves (that sometimes work against you) no hw or extra credit if you’re a STEM major, and exams that are worth 60+%o of our grade. Getting a 3.5 at a UC as a STEM major is A LOT different than getting a 3.5 at a CC as a STEM major. Anyone who actually attends one can vouch me on that, @friedchips @ReetaZam … & I did not want to go to a CC because I wanted the four year experience.
@tarrrrssss what you’re using right now is hasty generalization. i hope you know that not all professors work the same way, and i’m certainly sure not all UCSC professors are the same either. please, i’ve had professors that didn’t give extra credit or curves either, and i’ve certainly had professors that give exams worth a huge portion of my grade.
you need to understand that lots of CC professors have loads of experiences…i’ve had professors that came from backgrounds (as in studied there or taught there) of UCB, MIT, Cal Poly SLO, SJSU, SCU, etc… not to be offensive, but UCSC isn’t exactly that high up there either, like i wouldn’t question the difficulty of your classes at all if you were trying to transfer from a school like UCB, UCLA, etc (lols you probably wouldnt wanna transfer from those schools anyways) like of course, i’m sure UCSC has difficult classes, but that doesn’t mean CC’s don’t…
but yeah, you really shouldn’t be saying stuff like this when you’ve never had a first hand experience yourself…i don’t think you understand how offensive this can be for other CC students because you’re basically just telling us that you’re above us even though some of us tried really hard to get to where we were. it’s really not right for you to compare our education negatively to your’s when you chose that route yourself

Quick question for you guys. I’m trying to decide on a school to attend. I want to pre-med and attend med school.
Should I go to UCSD and switch to bio major or UCI with the Psychology major then finish med school pre reqs later on? (UCI doesn’t allow change to bio major)
UCLA is not an option at this point. (Too close to home)

@smnae1306 are you still under review? the housing message is the message you get when you click the apply for housing link. one is supposedly good, and the other is bad. so far, it’s proven legit. anyway copy paste your message if you want us to look at it, it’s way too much work for us to go find the exact messages for you (you can also do that yourself :P)
