@csergah I couldn’t find one before either! haha thanks for making the page
I had the bad message and got waitlisted. Looks like there’s really something to it. Still hoping to get in
Anyone trying to appeal? c:
I submitted my appeal yesterday.
I would definitely have to agree with you, @friedchips. Every professor is unique. I have a friend who took organic chemistry at UCSC and I am taking it at a CCC. He was allowed an entire cheat sheet with over 100 reactions on the exam while I am forced to memorize them. A few of my friends that have transferred have even mentioned that it was EASIER after transferring because there is less work. I also have friends that transferred into CCC from a university saying classes are just as hard. It is a bummer that you were not accepted, @tarrrrssss, a 3.5 is a good GPA. But comparing it to a 4.0 in community college is quite an exaggeration. As a community college student majoring in a STEM course, I can tell you that I have worked SO hard to get my grades, and it is very offensive to hear people talk down to community college students as if we have it easy.
What if I can’t give them transcript by the deadline date…?
I’m really stupid, but forgot to apply for IGETC application at my college.
Officer told me processing time will be 6-8 weeks and I can’t send the transcript while processing.
Did anybody get a call from an admissions ambassador? I got accepted into Warren for computer science and I got a call from an admissions ambassador who is also studying computer science and was congratulating me and asking me if I had any questions. It was really nice, but just wondering if that happened to anybody else
Does anyone know how to check their financial aid award for the fall?
@tehkman I got a call from somebody at UCSD but I missed the call.
Did anyone else get a call from the international admission office? I wasnt able to answer it and i tried calling back. I also find it weird because i’m not an international student.
@csergah scroll down to “continue to receive my admission offer”. Then click " my financial aid estimate". Then just “continue to awards”. It should pop up.
to people not from the first batch, has anybooody received their admit packet yet?
Nooo. @friedchips join the page on facebook
everyone is introducing themselves and you can ask Qs there!
what does the phone number start with?
oh boy are people on this board fighting again? it’s all smiles and helping each other at the Irvine and USC boards, porque the drama?
@jzonnn Mine came from the veterans office and I’m not military. I guess they’re just using everyone involved in admissions to make “welcome” phone calls.
Yaaay time to wait for appeal decisions now >.>
Just got a really nice call from SD!
here is uc admission response to my email when i asked if the waitlist is for pref. major, alt major, or undeclared major
“It may or may not be possible for students to be admitted of the waitlist with their first choice major.
It would depend on space, major prep and whether a student meets the GPA selection for that major.
Students would not know their final major until we inform them. Waitlist notification is not likely to go
out to transfer students before June 1st. We also do not know at this point if we will go to the waitlist. Because of this
it’s important that students submit a positive SIR to another campus by the deadline.”
Sincerely,
UC San Diego
