Science classes here at Davis aren’t “much easier” than SD. They are just as hard, so I’d advise not to enroll in a science or math course here with that belief cause you will realize how fast paced the classes are and I’d rather not see you fail. However, it may be true that it may be easier to get a better grade in Davis because of how friendly and helpful the students of Davis really are. We have a less competitive mentality, I believe, so you might have a more successful time here.
Also, I don’t know how the social life of Davis and SD compare, but if that isn’t that big of a factor, I think you should choose Davis.
I was just accepted yesterday off the waitlist into the Electrical Engineering Program! Has anyone heard about orientation? I saw a few people posting about it in here but never saw any answers
@EngineeringNut Orientation should be in late September with the deadline to register being September 1st. Google the college you were accepted to + “transfer orientation” and you should find the information. Congratulations!
Does anybody know how financial aid works for transfer students? I was awarded a Cal Grant A (pays tuition&fees) for the academic year but I don’t think it help pays for summer school. This is why I might just choose to go with my parents Cal Vet (pays tuition&fees as well) instead of the Cal Grant as it may cover the academic year along with summer school (not sure though). Anybody know anything about financial aid for transfers?
guys i have a question, what do you mean by bad housing message? Im planning to transfer for fall of 2016 and would love your advice for a biochem major thank you!!
Still no response from SD yet . So anxious and it’s kind of unfair when some people opted in like 2weeks after me, but received notification of acceptance like 2 weeks ago.
Me too! I’m hoping to get off the davis wait or UCI wait list as well but since we only have till Monday to accept I’ll most likely accept it. I don’t want to decline and risk getting rejected from the other ones. @CancelOut
Just got in today as well for pharmacological chemistry, but I saw in the terms of service that you have to have a cumulative of 3.0+ or higher by the end of spring 2015. I performed poorly in 1 class and it severely hurt my GPA. It may make me ineligible to meet this condition. I was going to call them on Monday because their office is closed on the weekends. Does anyone think they will let me attend a summer session to make up the class and keep my admission, should I unable to retain the GPA requirement? REALLY worried about this because I was so excited about getting, but now I may be rescinded soon after…
