UC San Diego Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

I think they had it decided before covid, that is why there has been no delay.

UCB has sent out a lot, They held Cal week which was very informative. They have held two transfer seminars within the past two days. They even sent me a physical copy of my admission letter to my house.

I wonder like why do they choose a certain day to release over others if the decisions are already decided like before covid. Some rolling uni’s decide on applications as people start applying and then give them a decision within like a week or so.

I’ve had the complete opposite experience! I’ve received multiple emails with transfer specific resources from UCB, as well as a number of Cal Week zoom seminars specifically for transfers (broken down by college/major). In my opinion they’ve been laying it on really thick about how they value their transfer community. They even sent an email with a link to a chat app for admitted transfers to connect with each other…

Sorry folks, I meant prior to decision release. I declined UCB like the day after decisions came out so I imagine none of that stuff would be sent to me. But good to know. ? Nice for the rest of you.

I didnt get anything from UCD

@Katxlalala wth? hmm…maybe bc I was a TAG applicant? Clueless

Maybe so. I’m out of state. Also got rejected and it was my number 1 ???

UCD sent a ton of emails

i feel you. i complained about this on the UCI forum last week or whenever that was. It’s unfair because transfers work twice as hard than high school students to get there! and chances are we were rejected by the very same school two years prior!!!

also UCLA apparently confirmed they’re releasing at 5. Not that i applied there but if the rumors are true that UCSD and UCLA dates are related.

@SatanFlower69 I agree UCB didn’t offer anything leading up to the decision but after the decision I felt they were the most welcoming and inclusive (offering opportunities, meetings, connections, etc.)

@Katxlalala Sorry to hear that! I’m sure you’ll thrive wherever you go though. ? OOS can be extra brutal. Already been rejected by two universities OOS so far. Good luck today! Hopefully its today.

right now I just keep refreshing this website and see whether someone comes to say “it is released!”

I’ve lost all hope for UCSD. I’m a polisci major and I’ve gotten in UCSC, UCR. Waitlisted UCI, UCSB, UCD, and rejected UCB

Even though they didn’t send out much prior to decisions, they did provide a date for decision releases and stuck to that!

I check once an hour in between binge watching Vampire Diaries.

question: if y’all get into SD will you be attending? or do you have your heart set on another place? or is financial aid a deciding factor?

I’ll go sd if I get in and I’ll withdraw all my waitlists

Where did UCLA confirm this?

"Hi everyone!

Decisions for the transfer class of 2022 will be dropping very soon! Other transfer students in leadership positions and myself have decided to create a new group for the incoming class.

If you know any incoming transfers, please direct them toward this group so they can build a sense of community like we have!"

I can’t post the link, but search for this group on Facebook.
