My daughter checked email based on this and found out she got off UCI waitlist instead. Big sis is there now and is pressuring her even though she is committed to UW at the moment.
Son admitted this evening off of the waitlist L&S (Undeclared).

Son was admitted off waitlist for pre-communications yesterday evening. He only has a week to decide, but the problem is he has AP exams all week. We are OOS and would like to visit before deciding so does anyone know if admissions would approve a deadline extension?

There is so much variation on waitlist admits. Sometimes there are large waves of admits and sometimes there are just trickles of admits. As admitted waitlisted students decline their spots, then the school can wait until after the acceptance deadline to admit more students or they could make offers as they open up.
