Does it appear they are doing rolling waitlist decisions by major/college? I havenāt heard of any Letters & Sciences waitlist decisions yet. Ours is political science waitlist desperately hoping for good news - accepted at Cal Poly SLO but UCSB is #1ā¦
Son off last night - @MatadorGuy, son will be Econ, so L&S. Keep the faith, I really think itās just a matter of time for your daughter. This is bananas! I am a UCSB alumna and so excited, but this has been a wild ride with this waitlist businessā¦. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Earth Science and Psychobiology are all L&S majors and even on Reddit I have seen only L&S admits.

is this earlier than past years? I seem to recall a post from you with WL decisions for the various UC campuses and for the most part they were in the first part of May?
Ours got in last night for Asian studies, in-state. Likely declining.

It does seem earlier than prior years - Iām hoping it continues that way so these kids can plan accordingly for fall rather than it dragging out through the summerā¦
I wonder if UCSB will release updated waitlist opt-in numbersā¦.because their webinar 2 days after decision day had said 12,000 opt-ins, and am wondering how much that number increased by the April 15 deadline.

@bruin98 we are in CA. @MatadorGuy, yes it seems as though this is early but who knows at this point? I feel for the people dealing with the math involved in cultivating a correctly-sized admitted groupā¦ at all schools, really.

I have only been keeping track for the last 3 years, but in 2023 there was 2 posts about being admitted off the waitlist around April 19. 2022 and 2024 admits started after the May SIR deadline.
