Major: pre-biology (applied as molecular)
GPA: 3.7
Accepted:UC Davis(TAG), UCI(genetics), UCSB(sociology)
Pending: UCLA, UCSD
@PursuitOfKnowledgee One thing I noticed about SDSU is that they mostly accept students that live in San Diego and I personally do, 10 miles from the University or Out-Of-State students. I’ve been rejected before from SDSU its mostly if your cards play right. I didn’t complete everything at SDSU (An Organic Chemistry class, bio stats, maybe one more class I’m not sure) but I did the majority of what they asked for!
The major change form says you can switch into Psych but you’ll be Pre-Psych until you complete all prereqs
Accepted!
Major: Pre-Economics & Accounting
GPA: 3.66

Accepted for Electrical Engineering
3.72 overall, 4.0 major GPA, all prereqs plus some extras will be done the end of this semester. Rejected from berkeley, accepted to CSULB, UCSC, and both Cal PolysNon traditional student. Several F’s and W’s. Upward GPA trend and pretty solid essays. It’s gonna be a tough choice between Poly Slo and UCSB…!
Go with Cal Poly SLO for their “Learn By Doing” motto. They have huge laboratories for hands-on building. I’m not sure if UC Santa Barbara has them. Also, research each of their job prospects once graduated.
But I’m thinking Cal Poly SLO. Don’t let the coveted “UC” before a name get in the way.
Rejected ? I was once told by a teacher to never have a favorite pick for a school because it’ll hurt bad if you don’t get in, so I tried not to have a favorite. Still bummed though!
hi! i was also admitted to these schools for soc! do you have any idea about where you want to go yet???
@rosebud101 I’m sorry to hear Idk if this will make you fee any better. But last year, I applied to 8 schools & was either waitlisted or rejected (including UCSB) and I only got into one school (SFSU). I retook classes & changed my major & I’ve been accepted to 8/10 schools I’ve applied to this year! (UCLA still pending & only rejected to one school, SDSU). But no matter the case, you’ll thrive wherever you choose to go! ?

My Transfer Conditions says I have to finish with a 3.0 Thought it would just be dont get any Ds.
Does everyone have this? The TAG agreement just said maintain a 2.0
Mine says I must maintain a 3.0 GPA too.
.
Hi, I’ve been accepted to UC Davis and UCSB for econ/pre-econ. I honestly don’t mind going to either school. I was wondering if anybody could let me know which has a better overall program for internship/future job opportunities? Thank you in advanced!
ACCEPTED
Major: Economics
TAG: No
GPA: 3.64
Major GPA: 4.0
Prereqs: 100% completed
IGETC: Completed
$24,000 in financial aid (grants & scholarships) that add up to
full-tuition + half of the housing/meal plan.
But I think I’m choosing Cal Poly SLO for Business Administration-Finance with less scholarship money instead. Hahaaaa.
Cal Poly SLO has a hands-on learning curriculum; not just the books.
Yeah I’ve been leaning towards Slo for those same reasons. Hands on learning, more emphasis on undergraduates, smaller class sizes, less classes taught by TAs. My friend doing his masters in EE at UCSB right now thinks it’s ultimately a toss up between the too as far as employment opportunities go and theyre both great schools so it just depends what education you want. As a junior college kid whose main goal with education is to secure better economic status, the learn by doing motto and emphasis on career prep at Poly is pretty damn appealing.
I’m drawn to UCSB because i grew up in Ventura so it’s close to home, the campus it’s absolutely beautiful, and the academics are a bit more advanced as far as research opportunities are concerned. As petty as it is the name recognition is nice too. I’ve got 8 days to decide
if anyone finds/creates a facebook group please post the link

Cal Poly SLO waived the acceptance-deposit for everyone so you should SIR to Cal Poly by May 1st, then you have until June 1st to decide about UC Santa Barbara & won’t lose any money.
