UC Santa Barbara Fall 2020 Transfer Thread

@fashionista99
hey there, I did all except bio sequence. when I email them they say my major doesn’t use pre-majors when considering admission, though

@nic0l3j Hey, sorry for the late response! I did end up tagging as PBS so I am currently taking Chem 2, Bio 2, and Calc 1. :slight_smile: My semester ends soon and from the looks of it I’ll be passing all of them!

@sbpbs2020 Ah okay I see. It’s good that you completed those other courses as it does show that you are ready. If you earned relatively good grades in those major prep courses, you would be a good candidate for transferring

Hey guys! I just got rejected by UC Berkeley and decided to drop in now that the decision date is close!!! I’m an art major and my gpa is 3.67!

When does UCSB release?

On Wednesday, April 22nd

Was also rejected from berkeley but trying to be hopeful for sb!

@ste1111

can schools do that?? how can u get your TAG rejected if you meet all the requirements?

@ste1111 @sbpbs2020

they can’t reject your TAG if you meet all of the requirements. Highly doubt that’s true.

they would definitely release a statement. there’s no way they could screw everyone over like that. they expect more applicants every year anyway

Hi everyone, I am new here. I was wondering what are your opinions on UC Santa Barbara Economics and Accounting major? Is it more to economic rather than accounting?

Thank You! :smile:

Take a look at the UCI thread, it appears that several tags were not honored there… could be many reasons but just throwing it out there…

After lurking so long I decided to make an account, hi!
Major: Biology
CCC? Yes
IGETC? Yes
Extracurriculars: volunteering, part-time work sporadically
GPA: 3.83
Already Accepted to: Berkeley, Humboldt, CSULB, UCD

UCSB is my dream school and I hope come Wednesday we can all get in, the anticipation is killing me! Good luck everyone!

Has anyone else tried to log onto their portal? I got the following message

“We have been working hard these last few weeks,
To give our transfers the admission decision that they seek.
So to prepare for this release,
Access to the portal will need to cease.
Freshmen we ask that you be understanding,
So we can prepare our applicant portal landing.
There is no need to be forever blue,
Since we will open at 3 on April 22.”

Sounds like decisions will be at 3:00PM that day.

Yes

Oh they gave us a time that’s relieving

It stresses more economics than accounting, but UCSB is very well known for aspiring accountants. They are recruited from by both bay area and LA offices. UCSB admits you into Pre-Economics & Accounting, and we have to pass requirements to declare full major status.
