Hello all. D24 just received a portal update and came to find out she was admitted to UCSB!!! It has been a horrendous several weeks for us, as she is a high stats student with a well rounded profile, but was waitlisted to all the UC’s she applied to, and she was devastated.
Finally some relief for us. Wishing you all on the waitlist the same fate

Hi ! I know that a lot of UCSB waitlist acceptances came out yesterday and today, but is it possible for anymore to come out today?
I got off the waitlist today for undeclared in the college of letters and sciences, i’m so surprised as I thought we had to wait until after decision day, the 15th? they’re only giving me until the 15th to decide too. I’ve already committed to davis, sent in my SIR, found a rommate, etc etc. I’m happy i got in but i dont know if i want to switch…

My daughter received an email from UCSB financial aid today. Not sure if that is an indication of possibly getting off the waitlist or if all waitlisted students received this.

No, FA packages are being sent to waitlisted students in case they are admitted so they can make their decision quickly based on the deadlines.
My daughter got off the waitlist today and declined. So hopefully that opens up a spot for one of you. Good Luck everyone.
Icing on the cake: She also received a $5,099 grant. Is this common? I’m just so surprised that you could be waitlisted in day, and then offered a spot with a grant the next day
