Good question and I do not have a good answer.
Previous years it had been higher stats and scholarship recipients that were admitted early but recently it seems to be more random, not that the early admits are not well qualified and competitive.

On her way out the door she told me UC unweighted 3.8 something, UC weighted 4.2

Conservatory classes 4 per semester for a total of 32, not including extra classes attended by special acceptance, totaling over one thousand hours over 4 years

Based on previous history, usually no more decisions until the 2nd wave Mid-March.
For 2023 and 2022, it was March 15.
