@PhoenixWolf My decision came out on the portal the day before I got the email.
Can anyone explain to me what they mean by “Proposed Electrical Engineering”?
Does it say “proposed” for everyone?

@hoshizora Be happy! You got accepted. I think it just says proposed major because there is an option to change your major on the portal.
@PhoenixWolf On the portal. I literally just randomly checked it cuz I had a “feeling” something was different lol
From UCSC Advising about proposed majors:
'“Proposing” a major is simply indicating an interest in a major. “Declaring” a major is a more formal process that you go through with your department or major adviser. If you listed a major on your UC application, it initially shows as a “proposed” major in the MyUCSC portal (you may have updated this with your college adviser since filing your admission application). Students can update their proposed major online. "
So basically, it’s just the major you applied for. If you want to change or keep the major, just declare it in the portal.

Does anyone have any experience on what to do if we plan on not taking some class we initially listed on our application?
Odd. I didn’t even get an email haha.
Also reading the conditions of admissions contract makes me feel uneasy lol. I’m sure I didn’t make a mistake but there’s always the chance. I guess I just feel like this acceptance isn’t real. Like they made a mistake haha. UCSC has been my dream school so I’ve been shocked the whole day.

You should update your TAU today. Today’s the last day you can update it. After today you have to fill out an extra form I believe and turn it back to UCSC.
@PhoenixWolf I got in through the portal on 3/17 at midnight and got the acceptance email at 4:05 PM.
Has anyone heard back for cognitive science yet?
Yes, I was accepted last Tuesday. But don’t get frazzled, decisions are rolling until the end of the month
