UChicago 2024 RD/ED II

Hope so

last year, RD decisions were released at 4:00 p.m.

I bet the email has to be for Accepted/Waitlisted students

EST? @Ultra39w85

CST

So in about 3-5 hours we will get our results. All the best to everyone.

Curious. My senior who applied to UChicago RD didn’t get the email about COVID-19 but my second son, sophomore, got the email. But my second son never registered his email to UChicago since my first son didn’t have a interesting until he got the letter about NMF. Very strange!!!

@hopeku That is pretty strange. When did your second son (sophomore) register his e-mail with UChicago. Did he sign up for any college fairs or a UChicago tour that required his e-mail address?

Not at all.

Chicago has screwed up names in their e-mailings before, but having access to someone’s e-mail is different. @hopeku - has your 2nd son taken the PSAT 10 or SAT, by any chance? College Board will send a list of names and e-mail addresses to interested colleges and universities who subscribe to the College Search tool, if the student checks the box allowing (or doesn’t check the box disallowing - I can never remember how it goes). ACT might do the same, as my oldest got a letter from Stanford once that they said was based on her ACT score (no e-mail though).

Son is RD applicant. No email here. Won’t be long now.

@JBStillFlying You have to check the box to opt out of the college search. In your opinion, should PSAT takers opt out of the College Board College Search? When I took the PSAT last year I opted out, but I wonder if I missed any opportunities for scholarships etc.

My second son took PSAT last October once.

My mom got the email lmao, never registered, never visited, no communication before.

also, my school just closed down for two weeks. Is anyone else affected?

My daughter and I both got the email. I don’t think it means anything other than we were on a list.

We will get the result in less than 3 hours so I think lets forget the mail for now.

Well, everyone, we’ll know most likely within three hours. Any final words before we all console one another? Remember: If a school doesn’t want you, you shouldn’t want them! This is what I’ve been telling myself to cope with and move past rejections. It’s just a school! Where you go doesn’t define who you are. (Look at me, consoling myself already. . .)

Literally me for the past 2 months

^^ Literally me when I got rejected from Cal Tech lol ?
