Anyone have any updates on waitlist movement??
We have heard exactly Nada so far
Honestly, I think they are no connections btw.
Hi guys, just let you know my daughter just got in off the waitlist. We live in PNW, and today the regional AO called her and asked her if she continued to be interested in the University. After less than 10-min talking, the AO just announced she has been admitted. And the formal email admission letter will be arriving tomorrow.
For those who still are waiting , i wish you all best of luck.
Congratulations! Did the AO ask for verbal commitment before sending the letter, or was she given 48 hours to commit?
Congrats to your daughter!
Three people on reddit have announced they received emails/calls on Friday, Saturday and today.
Congratulations!! What major?
Yes, the AO did ask her to verbal commitment first through the call. And then asked her to confirm it through email within 24 hours. She did so and the AO replied her saying that the formal admission letter will be reaching her today through her college account.
Humanities.
Thanks.
Through my daughter’s experience of getting off the waitlist, I would say, if you are still waiting and hope to get in, may you reach out to your school counselors and ask them to advocate you to the AOs. It worked finally out for my daughter. When her school was made aware that U Chicago started to turn to the waitlists, the school counselors reached out and called to advocate the waitlisted students. Give it a try and it never hurts. Again, best luck of you!
Congrats and thanks for the input! I’m international and my counselor is pretty inexperienced. What should I tell my counselor to say when advocating for me besides reiterating my interest? Would you rec a email or call?
Congratulations to your daughter!! Fingers crossed my son gets a call.
Anyone received a message from UChicago via Scoir?
My S24 received an email followed by a call yesterday. He officially accepted the offer today. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist. What a difference a day makes.
Do you mind sharing where you are geographically?
Had he already committed somewhere else? Just wondering how this might trickle down
We’re from the Midwest, near Chicago.
He had very recently enrolled at UMich and will have to give up his place in the UMich Honors program.
For those of you who have “gotten the call,” is there any discussion of aid at all? Are you completely out of luck if you want to come off the list in terms of financial aid?
