I googled “what could 1543 mean” and this is what I got: Significance & Meaning Of Angel Number 1543 With dedication and kindness, Angel Number 1543 reminds you that all of the things that are going to happen in your future are all good, even if they don’t seem so at first. You have to remember that your angels always want to take care of you because they care about you.
Uchicago could be telling us not to be too disappointed if we don’t get in???
if this is uchicago admissions’ way of announcing the release date of ed, then this is brilliant. i don’t think this has ever been done before. rolling out the release date in the form of a riddle is new and unique, not uncommon with uchi.
Does anybody know if UChicago requests first quarter grades? Probably not super-relevant for most applicant (who are 99/100), but I am wondering if anybody with less distinguished grades got such a request?
@AnxiousDad2024 my son applied ED2 last year and was encouraged to send his first-term senior grades as soon as they were available. Uploading a report card or another form of self-reporting was fine.
Update to include: It seemed to be a standard request for everyone applying under ED2 or RD. Had nothing to do with specific performance that I could see.
Does “Encouraged” mean that they have contacted him? Or he asked them about it, and they said that it’s O.K. to send those in? My son had not asked them about it, and no encouragement so far…
@AnxiousDad2024 I’m pretty sure it was a general request made of everyone who applied ED2 or RD - perhaps it was a message from the admissions office for “next steps” once he submitted the app - can’t recall exactly. He would have submitted anyway, even if they hadn’t asked.
My D was deferred EA for Class of '21 and switched to ED2. I don’t believe she needed to submit first term senior year grades. So not sure if my son’s year (Class of '23) was a switch in policy or just something that applied to first-time applicants with the January deadline.
^ Addendum to above: It was part of the Mid-Year report:
“Please have your high school counselor submit a midyear report with grades or a transcript for your first semester or first trimester by February 1 of the year you have applied, or as soon as possible thereafter. We are aware that schools may issue midyear grades at a later time, and students will not be penalized for submitting the report after this date. The Coalition and Common Application provide a Midyear Grade Report form, or you may use your own school’s midyear report. You are also welcome to make updates to your application by logging into your UChicago Account and clicking “Update Your Application.” Students attending high school in the U.S. may choose to self-submit their midyear transcript."

I think my son uploaded his grade report to his UChicago account as soon as that was available from the school, and his GC probably sent in an updated “official” transcript along with the mid-year report sometime in early Feb.
Wikipedia says 1543 was a common year starting on Monday. So, either decisions are coming out on the 13th or on the 16th.
I’m so scared! I’ve been checking the portal every day!
According to Ds counselor, the decisions are expected to come out on Wednesday 11/18.
Bruh, 12/18 now??
Dudes, the tweet is an anagram. Solve it and you have your answer.
Bruh what
Yeah…sorry…I meant Wednesday 12/18.
I’ve heard 12/18 but maybe 12/17 if they are ready.
So is 12/18 just a guess assuming they tweet a week in advance today or does it have any confirmation behind it??
What school told them that? That sounds so much later than usual.
wait which tweet is an anagram

Which school told you that? It seems a bit late in the year for UChicago to release.
“wait which tweet is an anagram”
This one from 12/9, 3:36 pm:
Everyone in 1543: Wow, I’m so glad that we live at the center of the universe
Nicolaus Copernicus: Are you in the right headspace to receive information that could possibly hurt you?
Pretty sure it’s an anagram. Some obvious words fall out of it.
