how long ago did you send your loci
i sent it the tuesday after decisions released
Wow! That’s amazing considering their freshman class size 1700+…. That makes their yield 106%. It’s a record
They’ve been taking kids off the waitlist and asking them to take a Gap year. I think those numbers are catching up and pushing down the reg admissions. They got some high stats kids from our school that way. Rejected from HYPS but really smart kids.
I know they play some weird games like that, and I appreciate the phenomenon you are describing. But the numbers are still a little bit off.
have they already started calling people off the waitlist?? i should probably get my loci in by tonight
Probably will start next weel and continue through april
Praying for a call next week
Us too. My son sent an email to his regional admission officer to let her know he is ready to commit if they ever want to pull him from the WL
Me too!!
considering uchicago only admitted 1.6k this year surely their waitlist gets cleared a bunch this year right
man, I sure hope so. PRAYING we get a call in the next couple of weeks.
My son sent his LOCI on Friday evening and yesterday his JROTC CSM called the military sciences instructor at UChicago who said he would be meeting with admissions yesterday afternoon. fingers and toes are all crossed
How did it go?
We got an email response from his regional admissions counselor thanking him for his LOCI and said they are uploading it to his file. The CSM supposedly spoke to the military sciences instructor 3 times over the phone on Monday, not sure what was said except that he (Uchicago instructor) would be meeting with admissions later that afternoon. I guess that’s all we will know until they start making calls to waitlisted students.
Has anyone been taken off of the waitlist yet? Any ideas of when that starts to happen?
In prior years, people have mentioned calls as early as April 5 and “one week after Ivy day.”
I made a separate waitlist thread: UChicago 2028 RD Waitlist
I was mistaken. I’m in Chicago now for admitted students and they said they accepted 4.1% so that’s approx. 1,763 students
