I am an Early Applicant and have a question about Financial Aid. I submitted the CSS profile instead of the worksheet, as it was required for other schools, and sent it to Chicago but I am not seeing it on the applicant portal. Also, I just realized that I need to send my parent’s tax return, will this be received without penalty? Secondly, do I need to send the entire tax return, or is there a list somewhere that explains which forms you need.

@ivybound24 I sent in my CSS profile, but I do not see any indication it has been received in my applicant portal either. I don’t know what it means, but that’s just my two cents :P… Hope I helped at least somewhat!

@UChicago Hello, I just got a notification that my CSS from College Board did not send, and I just resent it from College Board. Will this be too late since the deadline was Nov. 21? My worksheet on UChicago was already filled out, and I already uploaded the Income Tax Return? Will I not be considered for EA now, or will this not affect admission?
@UChicago. I was just able to have my interview today. Will this still be taken into account for EA?

@UChicago Hello! I would like to know if our portfolio materials are checked often. I had forgotten to upload a scan of a Polaroid picture that I had framed my whole UChicago Supplement on, but I had forgotten to upload the scan before Nov. 24 or Nov. 1. Will the admissions board still be able to see it now?

Hi @ivybound24 ! The CSS Profile takes some time to process, but you will be able to see it through the checklist online. If you haven’t seen it, though, feel free to contact the Office of College Aid. The financial aid deadlines are fairly soft. Just get the tax returns in as soon as you can. There is no penalty and if you’re admitted to the college your financial aid decision will not be negatively affected. More information can be found here.

Never fear though, if you sent it, most likely they have received it. If by some fluke they haven’t, there will still be plenty of time for them to receive it before they make a decision. Decisions will be released in the late afternoon on December 18th!
@waddups Don’t worry at all! The financial aid deadlines are soft, and materials will still be accepted and considered after the deadline has passed. There are no penalties for late submission–it will not affect your EA status, or your financial aid package if admitted.

How does UChicago view applicants who are graduating early? Is junior evaluated any differently than a senior? And, if a junior is rejected and reapplies senior year, does the reapplication affect how the student is viewed?
Would it be alright to upload something like a research poster to our uchicago accounts?
@UChicago For Regular Decision, do teacher recommendations have to be submitted by the Jan. 1st deadline with the rest of the application.
Will students who are reapplying need to resend their previous test scores with their current application materials? A recent score has been sent, but a previous test is necessary in the interest of superscoring. How long does UChicago keep applicant records?
