Uci acceptance

I live in Old Towne Orange with some roommates, takes me about 20 minutes sooo I’m staying here where my rent is CHEAAAP!

Yeah i’ll be rooming in anaheim for $250 a month… I think the commute is worth it haha.

rooming at a local apartment is only 500~ish rent per person. You can walk and saving 250 bucks a quarter and on gas cost.

Don’t know how much cheaper commuting is

I’m from the Bay Area too, I just figured it would be cheaper to move 20 minutes away. Plus Irvine is a little dead…

Due to various reasons my family is considering renting a house in Corona (I might just end up living at an apartment near campus). I know it’s random, but does anyone know how that area is? lol.

Meh, corona is okay. It’s kind of more spread-out, like riverside. Not much to do there either.

And that would probably be about 30-45 minutes to commute.

I plan to live in the library if i get accepted  Lol jk jk.

I plan to live in Arroya Vista in one of the themed houses.

@ wwlink: one of my uncles lives there. It’s in Riverside county. The traffic from Irvine to Corona is horrible and you’re always stuck in traffic jam no matter what day it is. My uncle takes a long time to get to work because of that, so he has to get up really early if he wants to make it to his job in time.

i think i read a couple of pages back that for some of you. when you were looking at the myapplication. it showed you what major you were being evaluated for. and for some of you it was your alternate major?

@sweetlacecharm that’s about accurate.

@jensiu I’m being evaluated for my first choice, but wondered if I might get accepted for my second.

What about the toll roads, the 241 to the 261 take Jamboree down? Or the 241 to the 133 and exit to the 405? Yeah seems like just as far of a drive but at least you’re still moving!!! And also yaaa you have to pay for the pass but it could be worth it …

I’m not big on Corona but not all of it is horrible, depends what part. My uncle used to have a really nice condo in Corona … its cheaper thats for sure!

If you take the 55, the commute from Corona is a lot longer than 45 minutes. It takes me 40 minutes just to get to UCI from Fullerton (~10 miles closer than Corona) and that’s NOT in rush hour. I would say about an hour on average for me to commute from Fullerton to UCI. That’s not including parking and walking to classes (10-15 minutes). Now from Corona, I’m pretty sure you’re looking at an additional 15 minutes. So I would say to be on time you would probably need to leave your house an hour and a half before class starts. But that’s only if you take the 91 to the 55 etc. If you take the toll road, I’m not sure how long it would take.

Depending on where in Corona the 91-241-261-Jamboree can take a little under 40 minutes, and there isn’t traffic like the 91 or 55 which in the morning suuuucks!! So bottom line commuting from Corona isn’t the coolest ever but its totally manageable !! Better than my roommate who commutes to LA everyday for work. Yuck!!

Wow, where are you guys from? OC has a tv show it’s obviously better haha. Less commute. Coronians probably don’t want a bunch if CC transfers in their neighborhoods anyway. Lol a bunch of kids fresh outta their parents’ houses partying. HAH

I’m from the valley, I can’t wait to move if I get in lol

If your parents are paying just go to OC. Then you can be close to school and proud when you say you’re from “the OC” who cares if your parents ate paying anyway? Anybody gotta pay their own way?

I’m paying my own way, but Orange County’s not that bad, depending on the area. like I said, I’m only going to have to pay $250 a month at the place I’m living in Anaheim.
