Uci acceptance

Wait so… just double checking… if you SIP, then you’re cleared to SIR somewhere else correct? There is no relation to those things?

I didn’t proofread my personal statement either. If you want, I can PM you what I wrote on my personal statement. I should have taken that personal statement workshop my CC had.

I imagine the waitlist for UCI is much different than it is for transfer students…

You are not going to believe this but I am still pending!!!
I figure it would take a while for them to figure which classes are transferable or not since I attended a university abroad… But I never expected it to be this long…
Anyone else still pending with international transcripts?

I wish I was still pending.

I am sorry to hear about your rejections. For me though UCI is the only hope I have of ever attending a UC, because it is the only one with no unit limitations so if I don’t get in this year, I don’t see how why they would take me on the future. There is nothing to be improved, so I am just praying and hoping they think I am good enough!

@ Jen… I have the most ridiculous conditions at Cal ever. The College of Chemistry normally requires B’s in EVERY pre-req (bio, calc 1-3 & lin alg, genchem, ochem, & phys 1&2) which I was completely aware of and I’ve gotten an A in all of those classes including ones I have this semester. Then I freaking read my Conditions of Admission and they want me to get a B in Physics 3 which is NOT required for my major and I’m taking it as an optional elective. I definitely have a borderline C+/B-. I’ve talked to my admissions counselor and the transfer rep for the College of Chem, and they’re like yeah I’m really sorry but you need a B. I wrote a letter to the dean yesterday :confused: but no one can give me an answer as to WHY I would need a B. Sorry… venting. :(

And to anyone that might have been rejected or waitlisted at UCI, I’ve been in school for 4 years. One year at a 4-yr where I accomplished basically nothing, and 3 years at my CC trying to complete all the pre-reqs and IGETC. If you only stayed at your CC for two years and you still have classes that you could take for an extra year, you should really think about it if you are determined to go to a school you were rejected from. And if your GPA was a little low, you can surely work at bringing it up. Just a thought. Don’t ever worry about how long college takes you!

I’m still pending also…

Are we allowed to include recommendation letters in our appeal?

Still pendingggg

Rejected. Oh well.

@angie37, what was your GPA? I’m sure you should be with us waitlisted!

Has UCI been telling people why they got rejected?

@kill

omg that is ridiculous. I don’t know what to say but you better get that B! If anything have a talk with the professor. If you’re borderline C/B- then maybe he/she will bump you up to a B. who knows, it doesn’t hurt to talk to them.

@jen I talked to him last week and he basically said… well if you get a C, Riverside’s not bad so maybe you should start looking into that.

@kill

which one is your first choice? I don’t even know what the conditions are for UCI. I hope we us waitlisted people get admitted. I have no other options because I’m senior status and that’s why I got rejected from the other UC’s.

WAITLISTED with a 3.82 gpa. sigh.

Beside the rejection notice, they posted a “information for applicants not offered admission” link: [UCI Comprehensive Review](<a href=“Academic Resources | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | UCI”>Academic Resources | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | UCI)

@drkmushroomz what was you major? Have you attended a 4-year institution?

@sweetlace thank you! Do you plan on calling them?
