<p>you know, if someone’s job was about to get a lot more involved i dont under why bruins wouldn’t think that acquiring more manpower or starting earlier to finish on time could possibly be an option.</p>
<p>I didn’t get an email from UCI today when I woke up, but I did get an email saying my second financial aid disbursement was sent to my bank account. yay, moneeeeeeeeeeeeey!!</p>

<p>yeah but its for this school year lol. my community college is weird and disburses my pell grant in two increments. so i get half in the beginning of the semester and half in the middle of the semester. sorry if i misled you lol</p>

<p>when I first started going to my cc they gave it to me all at once. My very first check was for about $2700. I was like WOAH. now they give me about 1350 twice a semester. So far i’ve bought a new computer, a reeeeally nice DSLR camera, and clothes. lots of clothes. lol but this check is going towards a new car and a trip to santa cruz. yayyyy</p>

<p>yeah I know! I have to save a little for real college too lol. last year they gave me another $1000 around july but I don’t know why? It wasn’t even listed in my financial aid package, but maybe its for summer school? i’m not taking any summer classes this year so maybe I won’t get it, but hopefully I will lol that would be cool.</p>

<p>I do not understand why anyone going to a community college should get any financial aid. At only $36/credit hour it is practically free. It is mind boggling that CCCs have the funds to give students money that they do not need for tuition so they can go buy expensive new cameras,wardrobes, cars and trips. </p>
<p>I think CCC needs at least 25% of its budget cut and given to CSU which needs the money and will put it to good use educating deserving students.</p>
<p>my family’s income is about 17000 annually for four people. my dad is the only one who works and my mom is disabled. my dad should be retired right now but he works everyday from 9 to 5. that’s why I get so much.</p>
<p>and @letmarire the reason the government gives out pell grants is to invest in the people. they realize if they give people like me an advantage to go to school and have everything paid for, then I’ll get a good paying job and put money back into the economy. I am after all a product of community colleges, and without that money I would not be transferring to a UC. community colleges are where it all starts.</p>
<p>and everything I bought I needed. I’m taking a photog class right now and that class required a DSLR camera. you’re acting like I went out and bought designer ****. you don’t know where I shop or anything. and I’m sure your mom and dad buy you everything you need. I have to pay for anything I need myself.</p>
