***UCI APPLICANTS C/O 2023***

a friend of mine got waitlisted for business administration

Waitlisted last night.

3.9/4.2 UW/W GPA
32 ACT
10 APs and strong EC & essays

Accepted: UF, UW, Northeastern, Boulder, SDSU
Waitlisted: BU, UCSB, UCD, UCI, UCSD
Rejected: UCLA & USC
Waiting on Berkeley and Tufts.

It’s unfortunate how many in-state students are getting rejected/waitlisted from the UC system. Good luck to all those who are still waiting for their decision!

My S has not heard anything. :frowning: Major: Computer Game Science. It makes me sad because I know at this point a rejection is coming but he still has hope. I know though that all hope is gone.

Son got email at 3AM. Waitlisted for CS.

4.34 WGPA (school caps # of AP courses you can take)
4.29 UC GPA
1500 SAT (790 math though)
750 Chemistry SAT
750 French SAT
780 Math II SAT
6 APs

Accepted: Purdue CS, Georgia Tech CS, UCSC CS, UCSB Letters and Sciences
Waitlisted: CCS Computing at UCSB, UCI, Cal Poly CS
Rejected: Harvey Mudd CS, UCLA CS

Very good essays, but SAT score probably on the low end of CS applicants. Lots of professional CS experience, student athlete in high school.

D just found out she’s waitlisted for poli sci—email at 3:20 am said there was an update to her portal. GPA: 4.02 (not sure if W or UW), ACT 30, lots of volunteer hours, tutoring, Link Crew.
Accepted at CSU Pomona, CSULB
Waitlisted: UCD, UCSC
Rejected: SLO, UCSB, UCSD

If we haven’t received a decision yet, does that mean we’ve most likely been rejected?

@Megg1997 same here. Haven’t heard, so most likely rejection. Looks like Michigan State will be where S will probably wind up (accepted). Ranks higher for game design than UCI, but he was hoping to be closer to the gaming world in SoCal. Too bad Cali kids having to go out of state :frowning: What school will your S go to?

Plz post if u get acceptances here, there may still be some coming out hopefully

We are still waiting but does anyone else have a my to do list tab under financial aid award? There are boxes to accept financial aid award direct deposit banking info into rules and info. I don’t remember seeing this yesterday and don’t know if it means anything.

@codeman1500 It varies widely year to year for each UC. Sometimes there are nearly no spots other years a healthy several hundred spots open up.

This is absolute torture. My D still hasn’t gotten a decision. Bio first choice Religious Studies alternate choice. I’m praying there will still be acceptances, but clearly it’s not looking good. I really wish they would send all decisions at same time. She would have had her rejection Friday and would have been done crying by now and looking into other schools she did get accepted to. Instead we’re holding on. This was her school of choice since she was in elementary school. so sad. Anyone willing to put a call in to admissions to find out for certain if all “acceptances” are out? I’m at work and can’t call, but this is killing me!

I love UW but he didn’t get in for CS. I’m not dying to pay $50K a year for him to hopefully find a major he likes.

@FakeName1 they’re just gonna give the same vague answer. No point in calling. I would start looking at her other choices now.

Anyone get accepted into Film and Media yet? My friends and I haven’t heard back yet ?

@TwoforT I noticed the changes in my daughter’s financial aid portal too. When I clicked “My aid award” it said that financial aid will be awarded in early April. I would just do everything on the “My To-Do-List”

Daughter waitlist notification ~7pm, 3/26.

Environmental Science
4.0/4.3 UW/W GPA
33 ACT
APs and strong essays, ECs

Accepted: UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Occidental, Oregon, Lewis Clark, Puget Sound
Waitlisted: UC Irvine
Non-accept: UCLA, UCSD, Claremont McK.

Congrats to those receiving accept decisions to UCI!

For those exceptional, talented students passed on by the UC decision/numbers game, continue to believe in yourself- your greatness is destined to be shared elsewhere!

Yes @swagmaster2001 that’s it. Not sure if everyone has that but hopeful it’s a good sign.

@Schiele I know its so sad. My S doesn’t want to go out of state. He was deciding between SDSU or UCR and will choose UCR. He was accepted for computer science. He didn’t apply to any out of state. He was waitlisted at UCSD so hopefully that goes through. His brother currently attends UCSD.

@TwoforT Fyi, my D was accepted in mid February. I hope it’s a good sign!

I have that too on my financial aid portal @TwoforT and @swagmaster2001
Is this a good sign? or does everyone have it?
