@CancelOut I don’t think that the waitlist is a form of rejection, because there still are rejections. I think that the waitlist is like “second-string,” colleges are getting so many more applicants each year that have strong potential that they have to divide them in three groups, two of which they believe are a good fit for the college and one that they believe do not meet requirements or will not be a good fit. They choose the top people that they want to offer admission to and then keep a small pool of potential students that they can hope to squeeze in so they don’t reject everyone. There’s just so many applicants nowadays.
Does anyone know if we do get accepted from the waitlist how it will affect housing?

Just got waitlisted for UCI as a computer engineer major.
I wasn’t able to select Computer Science as my major when filling out the app, and I heard it’s hard to change majors, so I don’t know if I’ll sign the sip.
I have a question. I’m not sure if I will be attending UCI if I am ofered a spot, but I want to know if I’ll get accepted.
Say if I submit my statement of intent, I get alerted that I am accepted, and I decide not to go. Do I withdraw my SOI or what is that process like?

how could you get waitlisted from a TAG?..I submitted a TAG as an International Studies major and I still haven’t received anything yet…i’ve been anxious for days…
@Edirol when I logged in the portal was green and said I had been wait listed. I did not receive a message or email.

@JccX17 I saw from other thread that gpa 3.93 got wait listed for bus. Ridiculous. Guess this major is really competitive this yr. gpa 3.6ish here still havnt heard anything. Guess gonna get rejected :-/ glad that I didn’t plan to go to uci from the beginning but it doesn’t feel good to be rejected

Long time viewer- first time poster. Since deadline for admissions is coming, I was curious- Did anyone else get a supplemental review questionnaire posted on the admin portal last month? Did you submit it? Have you gotten your admin decision yet?
@cccatranfer I got that questionnaire. I did fill it out and I have not heard back yet.
@elchewie UCI is my dream school. I really don’t know why I got waitlisted. I’m upset my TAG fell through.
