@Chanel Do you know anyone that received the email?
@iamstillcurious No. you’re the only other person I know that applied to architecture
@iamstillcurious I think we can try calling the department to see if the emails were already sent out.
@Chanel Sure thing! thanks
hey! im also applying for architecture studies any updates ?
@nomames12 nothing so far. Let us know if you receive an open house invitation anytime soon!
@nomames12 also what type of pieces did you include in your portfolio?
I had some art from a freehand drawing class I took and also renderings of a cabin from an auto cad and revit class. I haven’t received any emails about open house. Is that a bad thing ?
@nomames12 It’s not necessarily a bad thing. I heard if you get an open house invite its an early indication of acceptance. There’s still a possibility of acceptance even if you don’t receive an invite. I thought they were going to be sent out yesterday but it doesn’t seem like anyone received one. Also do you want to exchange portfolios?
Hello everyone! I applied to the UCLA WAC/Dance Major (I’m currently a freshman at a city college now). I just received an email invite to the Imagine UCLA Arts event today. In the email, it says that it’s taking place on April 13th.
@shiba267 Congrats!! That pretty much means you’re 99% admitted. What time did you receive the email?
Thank you! I got it at 1:00 PM PDT!
@shiba267 I’m so happy for you!! Is UCLA your top school?
It is! It’s one of the only UC’s that accepts sophomore level transfers, so I’m super glad I got the email. Hope you get one soon as well!
@shiba267 I hope I get an email too or I’ll have to go to UCSB for economics. I was really hoping I could study something that requires more creativity but I guess it’s meant to be.
I received an email around 1pm on 3/23/18 as well. Applied to the WAC ( World Arts and Culture) major. Has anyone ever been rejected after attending one of these “invitation only” open houses???
@Molliford to be honest, I haven’t seen anyone get rejected after receiving the open house invitation. If you meet UCLA’s requirements then you’re accepted 100%.
I’m a sophomore transfer from a private college so my course work is not like the TAG program and while my HS grades and SAT’s are good, college GPA is not impressive.I’m afraid the Art school accepted me but the regular admission committee will ding me. Yikes! Hopefully the Art school looks at the entire application and does not set people up for total disappointment… so nerve wracking
@Molliford I’m not sure what requirements they have for sophomore transfers but I think you should be fine. Are you planning on attending the open house?
