I was able to sign up and take 4AL before 1B last Spring without any issues. The last couple experiments use 1B-related material, but that really wasn’t a big deal.

Hi, another excited hs senior here. :)

I’m 90% positive I’m attending LA. Is it better to go to the Bruin College Day or the Regents Scholar Society OSP? I can’t attend both because of schedule conflicts.

do RSS OSP. i think u get more personalized attention, not just a stupid tour.

???–Queston–???
Must…Buy…UCLA…Hoodies…and…T-shirts…
Good deals anywhere?
I bought a Cal end of junior year for 15 bucks so i guess a good price for a hoodie is 10-15 (i do see these on websites like slickdeals.net occasionally!)
Anyone know of a place online to buy for around that price? hehehehe

i know steve and barrys selling pretty cheap shirts and sweaters but i think a lot of them are closed… but if you want the real bearwear sweaters and shirts you’ll have to get at ucla store and they are not cheap…

yeah the realdeal ones are scary expensive (and im assuming the quality aint all that better)
and steve and berrys near my location are closed or too far away, bummer

You can try Champs/Foot Locker/Finishline. The designs are different and don’t look as “great” as the ones at the UCLA store, but you can sometimes get hoodies at 2 for $50, or T-shirts ad 2 for $25.

I don’t know where you can get a hoodie for $10-15 …

idk if anyone has aksed this question but…how do we know if we got a scholarship? or how do we apply for scholarships?

steve and barrys is gone my amigo.

RIP $8 starburys

I just noticed Nickelodeon’s hosting the Kid’s Choice Awards on Pauley Pavillion…I wonder how many young girls the Jonas Bros. will foam

yeah finishline has the hoodies for 15, but no ucla right now (clearence)
amazon occasionally has 10-15 dollar deals too

if we are able to enroll in a graduate course does that mean we can take it?
Or will we be kick out. Its a education graduate course during the summer.

You usually need to petition to be able to enroll in a graduate class … ask the professor.

Sorry to invade this thread again! Haha.

Does anyone know if the Amtrak at Westwood (UCLA) runs to Santa Ana and vice-versa? I can’t find any info about it at amtrakcalifornia.com.

damn dude if the company’s website doesnt mention, how the hell should we know?

I think you can use it to get to the pacific surfliner which does go to santa ana. I don’t use it though. I usually just take the bus to union station and get to the trains from there.

How does UCLA Library’s borrowing policy work? I’ve heard of some 2-hour limit on course reserves, but is it possible to say borrow a textbook required for a class for an entire quarter and then return it? I only ask because the book’s price is negligible and I’ve never had to borrow books of any kind out of the library before.

The checkout time varies. Some books have a two week limit while others have a six months. It is possible to borrow a textbook for an entire quarter if the there are multiple copies of the book AND no one else requests it. Don’t count on it. Your best bet is to request a copy from another campus or use the LA public library.

Hey guys, I was wondering what it will be like to be commuting to UCLA as a CSE major. I’ll be an entering freshman this coming fall. How doable is it academically? Any other input? I’ll be commuting from the San Fernando Valley.

Don’t have much experience in this field, but it’s academically doable at the expense of free time to relax or do extracurriculars. And be sure your mode of transportation is flexible enough to allow you to be on campus at odd hours.
