Usually during the first 2 weeks, you can pick up a Bruin Discount card for free. If I remember correctly, I got mines from someone passing it out on Bruinwalk. Discounts for the small stuff, not the big restaurants.

I don’t remember counselors selecting courses during Orientation .

Thank you, MrPink. Depressing? How so? I found the threads on Women’s Studies now. I did look for them a while ago, but I guess I just wasn’t trying hard enough.

Anyone have any insight on Eng 85?

is there an easy way to get to disneyland from ucla using public transportation?

when do we get our housing results

For a freshman pre-psychbio major, would it be okay NOT to take chem 14a the first quarter? And take women’s studies 10 instead?

my other two classes are french 4 and music history 7

what the hell kind of schedule is that? 3 GE’s?

you could take 3GEs, but that’s less you have for spreading around when you start to take a heavy science courseload.

I’m looking at transferring summer courses from community college to UCLA and there’s something I don’t get. After 105 units, students don’t get unit or grade credit, which makes sense. Classes you take don’t get counted towards graduation or GPA. But it does satisfy course credit, regardless of how many units a student has. Does this mean I could still do my GEs at my community college even if I’ve gone over 105 units? I just wouldn’t be getting units or grades for them.

I’m not sure of my intended major but it’s between Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, and Political Science at the moment.

I’m planning on taking Psych 10, some easy GE (A&A 10 seems to be the favorite… if it’s still open), and either LS1 or Chem 14A.

I already have Math 31A/B credit from a CC, so I guess I need to take more math at some point if I go Neurosci, but I can just wait on 32A until then without any problems right?

Just trying to keep options open at this point and finish some GEs. Thoughts? Thanks!

What would be a nice GE class that would fit in a schedule with Chem 14A (Lec MWF 12.00 ~ 12.50; Disc F 9.00 ~ 9.50) and Math 3B (Lec MWF 2.00 ~ 2.50; Disc R 2.00 ~ 2.50)?

I wanted Arts and Architecture 10, but that clashes with the chem lectures…

Is anyone else having trouble with the website for the online math practice test?

My orientation is in a few days and I would like to see how much I need to study…BUT I CAN’T because “the page cannot be found.” HELP!

and…is the test hard? how much did you need to study?

i’m going to orientation tomorrow and i’ve done absolutely no research about my classes. i know its a little late to ask this but is it necessary to research your classes? btw i’m a mechanical engineering major.

if it is necessary, can anybody show me a link or something where i can get an idea of the classes i need to take cause i really have no idea

For the GE requirements, you can view them here http://www.registrar.ucla.edu/ge/GE-EngrNew09-10.pdf</a></p>

The major itself is here [B.S</a>. in Mechanical Engineering Curriculum](http://www.seasoasa.ucla.edu/curric08_09.html/Engineering%20Announcement%202008%20HTML/curricmech.htm)

Hoped that help, I’ll be at orientation tomorrow too.

Um, plaza triples come with enough desks for everyone, right?

There are 3 desks and 3 beds.

No bunk beds? (plazas)

is there a good way to get to disneyland from ucla using public transportation, based on personal experience?

its gonna be a long ride, once i used public transportation from my house to downtown LA (around 10 miles away) and it took around an hour. a 40 mile trip wouldn’t be pretty… LA’s public transportation system isnt exactly speedy

oooh my thanks for the heads up
