Hello, I am a student at smc and had some questions about the ucla business econ program. I would like to know if anyone in this major can describe the classes or give me any information on the specific classes you take there. I would like to know how econ 11, 41, 101, 102, 103, and 106 are and what they teach you. Also the management courses. I would specifically like to know how much math/calculas is involved and if the things you learn are more theory based or more applicable to making real money. I am more interested in investing more than studying data and putting it all together. Thank you
Bump

You can find the course info for each of the courses you mentioned and it gives a description of the subject matter and requirements.
There is a moderate amount of fairly basic calculus required in Econ courses but you will also have to take 2 calculus courses if you haven’t already.
What you learn is almost entirely theory but that is typical of this major.
“more applicable to making real money”
Unfortunately there isn’t a secret to making money that economics majors learn so I’m not really sure what this means. Getting certified as a McDonalds chef is applicable to making real money, I think?
