***UCLA CLASS OF 2019 APPLICANT DISCUSSION THREAD***

@Quiazia I was wondering the same thing. They really want me to go to college in California so I wouldn’t be too far. It’s going to be really tough for them if I go out of state. Good thing I have UCLA!

its not like the OOS was not published so their is no joke. If you get FA great but the numbers are known ahead of time.

Each UC I’ve got accepted into has the same expected cost for me… too bad its all above 20,000 :frowning: now on to berkeley and how to pay!

I got in!!! I’m super super super happy! I’ll post my stats on the other thread!

Nice!

I got into UCLA and won the Regent Scholarship–> Full Ride

Crazy how only there are only a 100 students who actually win this scholarship

@AznTestMachine how the hell were you wait listed???!! Did you like bomb the essays or something?

How good/bad is it to be waitlisted? Like do I have a reasonable chance of getting in?

My son was accepted yesterday and got the financial aid email too

@awesomesauce8312‌ That’s really great. I bet your parents are ecstatic.

I got accepted and applied for financial aid, but I haven’t received an email about it yet!

Is this normal? When I logged onto the financial aid portal (which I had to find through google) it says “my provisional award letter is unavailable at this time”

Thanks for the help

I got accepted! Pretty surprised though since my SAT was a 1620, and Im an early high school graduate

I got a supplemental questionnaire from both Berkeley and LA

I was wait listed at UCSD and Davis but got into UCLA. Yay!

@awesomesauce8312

I hope you know that Regents only offers $2,000 per year.
It’s not full ride.

“I got into UCLA and won the Regent Scholarship–> Full Ride”

@arra1997‌ ah, I see.looking at your stats, you have a pretty good chance at most of them.
My last shot is Berkeley, otherwise UIUC/UCLA/UT-Austin !

Seems like engineering this year was really competitive… I and some of my friends who have 4.2+ UC GPA and 2300+ SAT or 34+ ACT all got rejected…

@HopeIReallyGetIn‌ This is always the case with UCLA and UCB… there are tons of qualified people like yourself and friends who don’t receive a letter while those with lower stats do. It really is holistic. I hope you get into your other schools!

My son got $8700 a year,Provisional Award, out of state student

r u saying u will need to pay $58,776 - 8700 / yr?

our son was accepted into the theater dept as a musical theater major. he has a 3.9 unweighted and 4.7 weighted gpa. sat 2100, act 33. i suppose his audition went well. i can’t seem to find a musical theater thread for ucla…
