UCLA Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion

Do any of you guys know approximately when admission packets will sent out? Im excited.

@dreambig98 I’d also like to know what UCLA said. I was not able to receive the call myself since my phone is in repairs. :frowning:

@jtylur sorry for blowing up earlier. I’ve been pretty emotional the past few days. didn’t mean to come across in a negative way.

@jtylur & nshepherd929 You may want to look at the following link which is the UCLA Freshman Selection Overview that came out in Oct 2015 before the application deadline explaining the process…specifically item #4 which provides an insight to standardized test scores.

See: http://www.admission.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_fr/frsel.pdf

Eye-opening document on how the admission review process works. Definitely helped me to understand the process, writing my personal statement and getting accepted to UCLA…even with a low ACT score. Go Bruins!

@CalDude2020 Never fear, they send the international ones by FedEx or airmail.

Accepted
4.36 UC GPA; 28 ACT (No SAT)
EC: School president, editor, and chief of yearbook, founder of school newspaper, Key Club
No outstanding awards. Just your average honor roll school awards.

@dreambig98 @kuidaore they just said congratulations like 20 times lol and information about bruin day recommending that we attend. It’s a great opportunity for admitted Bruins to meet other armitted Bruins and get a feel for campus life at UCLA etc

I got accepted to UCLA last week!!! but I was also wondering if UC’s check your third quarter grades?? or do they just ask for your final transcript?

Has anyone received their acceptance package in the mail yet?

@cidjje no and I live about 45 minutes from UCLA. I want it already !

If I want to go into business area, maybe like work for a big financial firm, do you guys ucla is the right choice? I know they don’t have an undergraduate business program.

Do they call everyone or just specific people? do you think they would call people internationally? Also, does anyone know when they’re meant to send out admit packs? has anyone received any from other UC’s?

Also, If they admit 16000 for a class of 6400, does that mean a class of 6400 was admitted and the rest waitlisted or is it first come first served with the SIR?

@Caramel101 No, they accepted 16,000 students. But typically, around 6,400 will actually attend (they know how big the yield is on average - around 38%) It’s not first come first serve with the SIR, if you are admitted, you can attend, no questions asked

ucla or ucb for political science? accepted both and dont know what the f to do

I’m in the same boat @idkwhattodooo ! accepted to both aiming for international relations/business I have no idea

Got into UCB!!!

Got into UCB but waitlisted to UCLA

@dreambig98 do you know when we are meant to receive admit packs? apparently last year they only started receiving them in May?

@Caramel101 @dreambig98 what about international students?
