I just got the alumni scholarship reminder also. Hope it’s a good thing.
My D got a reminder email to apply for the alumni scholarship as well. But she never received the original email to do it. She nor I do not know what to take of this email.
I got an invitation for the alumni scholarship as well today. It’s the first email I’ve received about it, but it sounded as if they had sent one before. Is it a glitch and they got sent out to everyone? Or are they sending out another wave of them because of not enough applicants? Any thoughts?
@sadlyoptimistic I think they definitely have enough applicants haha… They have the most out of all the UC’s this year 
@chubii applicants for the scholarship is what I was referring to. Lol my bad for making that unclear.
@sadlyoptimistic @bostonliving9696 @mrsquietstorm9 I think getting the original email is significant, not this reminder email. The reminder email seems to be a glitch because last year only those who were initially invited recieved reminder emails/phone calls.
I thought I had only received the reminder email, but I searched my mailbox and discovered that I got the original on January 29. Why would they send a reminder if they didn’t ask in the first place?
My D got the reminder email today too, but she’s gotten the other invitations as well, one personalized with her name one not. And I think her major is already closed as invitations to interview already went out and she didn’t receive one, so it’s tough to finish the scholarship but… :-? perhaps more interviews will come?
@catzxo what invitation to interview? Is this for Alumni scholarship? How can it close if the deadline is next week?
@Ballerina016 she has received the alumni scholarship invitations all along, but I don’t think it means anything for her because her major requires an interview for the TFT program and those interviews have already gone out, according to a current TFT student here on CC.
@werewolf2016 omg I just checked previous emails and I have the original invitation from January. I’m so frustrated that I don’t remember ever seeing it 
ohh well lol glad I still have a week to fill it out!
When was it sent? I’m trying to find it in my email as well. I’ve received the reminder so I’m wondering if the original was sent too and I just didn’t see it
@dashley I got an email January 29. I swear it wasn’t there until today lol but it said opened soo I guess I must’ve read it while being preoccupied!
I received an invitation for alumni scholarship as well as regents. BUT I also received a supplemental information request and not for talent or disability. I’m so confused. Nothing is guaranteed.
My original email for alumni I found in spam one day a couple weeks ago. I think it must’ve not been recognized by gmail or something.
Just found mine in my spam mail! Thank goodness for that reminder being sent out today.
Wait so can we reuse our UC essay for the alumni scholarship app?
@bubsbubbles yes because the readers for the alumni scholarship do not have access to your UC application essays.
Hey guys,
So I had received the UCLA supplemental questionnaire and one of the prompts wanted me to write about my participation in the Academic Decathlon. Unfortunately the application was due the week before competition so I only wrote what I expected to happen. Now I have the results and I did end up accomplishing what I had written in my essay (won a gold medal!). Should I send admissions an email confirming it or is that too much? Or should I just leave it alone?
@EnviroChris I think you should if you want to. They may use the information, and as I see this can only be a positive, I would go for it. Good luck!
