@10s4life Thank youu so much for those encouraging words. I hope everyone ends up at their first choice colleges.
:’)
@futurecivilguy14 I’m in kinda the same situation. 11th I got 64% :’) 9th and 10th both I got 9.8
My first choice is Brown, so it’s fair to say it’ll be unlikely for me to get into my first choice xD
@kingofacademia4 I’d say you have a good chance based on your academics, but I think that EC’s and essays are equally important and as long as you’ve done well in those areas, I’d say you’re in. Did you get an alumni scholarship invite?
yes, i did. @bruin2020
Do we know if decisions will come out in late March or sometime in April?
@quirkygirl98 late march
I got an email today from UC Berkeley it went like this
my name and then
Want to start your freshman year in an extraordinary way? Spend your summer at Berkeley then your fall semester abroad in London, Madrid, or Rome! If you are admitted to Berkeley, we invite you to learn about Global Edge, a program for newly admitted Berkeley freshmen.
Through Global Edge, you’ll take eight weeks of summer courses on campus alongside other incoming Berkeley freshmen. You’ll be able to explore campus resources and connect with your peers, giving you a head start on your Berkeley experience.
In the fall, you’ll continue your studies in London, Madrid, or Rome and spend the semester taking Berkeley courses abroad. You will study, learn and live with a small cohort of classmates, and return to Berkeley for spring semester with many academic requirements completed and a new global perspective.
What are students saying about their Global Edge experience?
“Global Edge allowed me to discover things that I didn’t know about myself. Without the chance to study abroad my first semester of college, I do not think that that I would have had the same broadened perspective or understanding of the world around me.”
“I didn’t know you could learn so much simply from living in a new city for a few months.”
“Initially, living independently in a country halfway across the world with people I barely knew seemed like a daunting task, but I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my first semester any other way.”
“My favorite part about Global Edge was meeting new people over the summer and living with some of my best friends while abroad. I never felt bored while abroad because there was always something to do every weekend.”
To register for Global Edge, you must have been admitted to Berkeley and have submitted your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR). Applicants must be 18 years of age by August 13, 2016 and have a valid passport from the United States or EU passport at time of application.
More details can be found at globaledge.berkeley.edu.
Sincerely,
Global Edge

Did anyone else get this?
DD got one. She was admitted last week to UCB. Do you know you post in UCLA thread?
@lovingkindness I got this email too but I wasn’t admitted early.
what did you guys apply for? I applied as a bio major.
@kingofacademia4 I give you a 50% chance of getting in. How did you only have 5 classes sophomore year, yet 6 junior year? And how did you get in a year (2 semesters) of Spanish and 2 semesters of art history in a summer? My summer is 10 only weeks
@lovingkindness, everyone got that email.
@10s4life interesting…thanks for clarifying. I wonder if it is just engineering that didn’t get it. @Ballerina2016 DD got accepted and got it, my S didn’t get the early acceptance and got it and so did some top students at my school.
No, he applied for economics. Aren’t we on the wrong thread?
My son got Cal regents invitation but his top choice is UC LA. he got an alumni invitation . Did UC LA send all regents invitation already? Eagerly waiting for UC LA regents invitation. We are from Bay area and wondering anyone from bay got regents invitation from UC LA?
@vsbayarea Yes, all UCLA Regents have been sent out
@vsbayarea even though you did not get regents it seems that getting the invite for the alumni scholarship is a good sign. Good luck!
I just received an invitation to apply to the Alumni Scholarships Program.
This is just a reminder that it is due in a week. The original email went out few weeks ago.
That’s what I thought
