Lol I find it really funny how we’re like thinking every small thing is a sign AND how can you even catch that minor email change oh my god
@10s4life Good point! Didn’t think of that.
I got my email at 1:00 PM PST
I checked several previous UCLA discussion threads… Looks like there is no mention of newbruins email.
@vi0linmonster I mean yeah I even think we’re reading too much into this, and I personally think college confidential is pretty cancerous at times. But it’s so hard to not do it when there IS no sign of anything. As for how IBguy found that out, no freaking clue lol. As for the newbruins@sao.net whatever email, I searched it up and something that popped up was this: http://uclaadmissions.typepad.com/justine/2007/04/new_bruins.html
I feel like this has to be at least a small sign lol.
Edit: I got my email at 11:31 AM today, and one from applicant@admissions.ucla.edu on Feb 13.
@mdlego Ok. That one hour difference between yours and mine proves @10s4ife 's point. But why even bother using a different email suspiciously titled, “New Bruins”. haha I am looking into this way too much.
My stats are really low so I’m not gunna get my hopes up. I got the email at 12:02.
3.37 GPA
1310 SAT
Great personal statement

@IBGuy101 It’s so hard not to! Did you get an email on the 13th? And did anyone else here get the UCLA supplement request?
My stats are also pretty low
4.0-4.1 UCGPA, not sure exactly
2270 SAT
Asian
Personal Statement was probably one of the best pieces of writing I’ve written.
ECs: Internships, Volunteering, pretty decent, 7-8/10.
@twinshk2 I got the email on the 13th but not the supplemental
@twinshk2 No, not from UCLA on the 13th. I did get a campus life one on the 14th.
@IBGuy101 Yeah I meant the campus life one! Did you get a supplement request? @cf9882 Well that’s strange… I’m not sure then I suppose.
@twinshk2 I really wish we could find out what these emails mean. I guess we will at the end of march.
Who else submitted an alumni scholarship app?
Ok, I will go ahead and say that I am 90% sure that this means something… There is an entire page dedicated to this email titled “New Bruins” on the UCLA admissions site.
http://experience.admission.ucla.edu/new-bruin
I don’t know if it will get even more obvious.
4.33 w/uncapped UC GPA
3.80 unweighted
33 ACT
740 BIO M
750 SAT Math II
Good essays and ECs
No supplemental request
Got the newbruins email
Applied for undeclared life sciences
@IBGuy101 Oh wow. So you think it’s a hint at acceptance?
Looks like most of us got it here on CC and since we are getting these emails in different waves, I think those who didn’t get theirs yet will get them sometime today or tomorrow.
If they do, it just means another mass email, but I guess if those who still haven’t gotten theirs yet not get anything until tomorrow, this new bruins email does signify something.
By the way, what time did you guys all get the email? Can you post what time and what time zone you’re in?
Mine was sent 1 pm Pacific Time.
@cf9882 It really does look like it… But I honestly don’t know since it seems like people from a wide range of stats get it. Kind of throws off my assumptions.
@dashley I just submitted mine on Thursday!
@IBGuy101 Thats true too! But they could be going for a more wide range class this year. Some people with high GPA, some with more EC’s some minorities. We can only hope.
