UCLA Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion

@Mysonsdad sorry I meant that it would be around the 20th, (so 18th this year).

No problem, we are all anxious here and I hope I reduced anxiety by 2 days.

Maybe they’re just starting to use the new email since it’s getting close to decision day? Also people that haven’t already gotten the email might get it later… I know that for one of the campus life emails I didn’t get it when people first posted on CC and but I got it after like a whole day.

@mdlego, I just talked to someone who didn’t apply to UCLA, they didn’t get an email. Lol just having fun

This is my take on the issue…
It looks like the @soanet.ucla.edu email is used by all departments that manage communications of admitted students. On Google i found several pages that asked admitted students to email that address for any questions regarding their admission. So based off that it seems like it’s a good thing but I also noticed that almost everyone on CC got the email, some with high stats some with low stats, so that leads me to be slightly skeptical about this issue. However, we could argue that CC is not representative of all the applicants to UCLA, and that the wide variety of stats could be based on other parts of the applicants application like EC’s and essays. So in my eyes, I would look at this as something neutral as we don’t have enough information to make a valid guess to what this really means. I guess we’ll find out in a month anyway.
Good Luck!!!

Not sure if this is relevant or not, but I had to inform them of a class change for my second semester and the email that replied to me was applicant@admissions.ucla.edu and earlier when I signed up for the fall open house the email was welcome@saonet.ucla.edu

Man, we got like no chill. I posted the reddit thread. Hopefully someone can help -_-.

@berkeleybetch I’m not trying to be passive aggressive at all actually lol sorry if I sound like i am but your tone of voice was kind of strong so I just wanted to let people know that what they’re suspecting and discussing on here are much appreciated

@10s4life LOL haha that is so true but don’t blame it on him! If this is actually true it might help future applicants

LOL the way this thread has exploded these last two hours or so is insane!

I got this email on 24 Feb at 2am pacific.

Could the fact that we are getting this at different times, and even dates for that matter, mean that as soon as someone is admitted they are sent this email? I know it’s farfetched but this is around the time they make the bulk of their decisions.

@bruin2020: as @twinshk2 pointed out earlier, people who didn’t receive the email would most likely not be checking the thread at this time, so the sample may be skewed heavily. That is of course, if this email is indicative of something.

@treehugger24 what is the fall open house?

Ok, like I said before… lets wait a day or two to see if everyone on this thread gets it. That is the only sure fire way to see if this is another one of those mass emails or if it really is something more.

Can you all login onto the ucla admission portal?
I cannot get itno it since I received this email. It says record not found.

Mine says under review

Mine says under review too

@jindaltanya did it say application not found after you login?

It’s when the UCs (UCLA in particular for this one) have sort of a prospective applicant day with speeches about UCLA and all the programs there, etc. And campus tours and stuff like that. It was before applications were due. @mdlego

@dashley i know right LOL
