I submitted mine literally an hour after the appeal was open and no response yet ??

I got rejected In-state

Out of state and still no decision. I sent the appeal in on April 11th.

Same. Also OOS and no decision. Appealed on April 1st.

People say that no news is good news but I doubt it. There have been people who were denied in mid May to Late June. Seems like anything can happen.

Do they email you if there is an update on your decision? Did anyone here get emails?

Iā€™m getting so anxious as to why they havenā€™t gotten back to us yet ): I appealed like right away!!

In-state, appealed April 14th, no response.

Does it say on your portal ā€œPlease note that a decision may not be reached until after May 1st so please plan accordingly.ā€

So I think that they just read and release decisions right away. So maybe they havenā€™t got to ours yet?

@krispey That wouldnā€™t make sense because thereā€™s people who have submitted it earlier and still havenā€™t received a response yet. I think they read through all and pick and choose the ones they want and release the decisions then in a timely manner.

Hereā€™s my guess: They read through all of them and reject the ones who clearly donā€™t have compelling/new information. Then they wait for their yield numbers and accept the ones they have space for.

@UCLAParent123 that makes a lot of sense but thatā€™s even scarier!!! UCLAā€™s yield rate is normally so high

@UCLAParent123 Without a doubt, that is most definitely the correct approach that they take. They specifically state that they ā€œdonā€™t set aside for appeals in the freshman class.ā€ Thatā€™s probably why there a so little appeal acceptances.

According to a reddit post, apparently someoneā€™s aunt is an AO and she said the latest you will hear back from a waitlist or appeal is May 8th. Not sure how true that is.
