UCLA Class of 2024 Appeal Thread

I didn’t get my decision yet

Anyone else still waiting with me for their decisions? Keep me company plsz lol

@UCLAParent123 I am still waiting LOL

@samkr14 I’m trying not to get my hopes up, but if they were going to reject us, why make us wait? Why not just reject us with everyone else? Literally praying.

@UCLAParent123 I know right…I hope everything works in our favor because I worked so hard these past 4 years and I’d like to see it pay off

@UCLAParent123 Apparently, today was the “big IS wave”…does that mean we have a possibility of getting accepted

Thanks @UCLAParent123! It is all good. I visited Purdue earlier this year and loved it (surprised myself since I am a California girl), and I got in with good merit money. I am also on the waitlist for Cal. I would be 100% happy at either of those, and I am a firm believer that things will work out like they are supposed to! Good luck to you and everyone else!

@UCLAParent123 I’m still waiting on my decision as well. Oh well, I’ve already SIRed to UCSB, but we’re in this together.

@UCLAParent123 I’m guessing bunch of appeals were sent in this year, so I’m assuming that they haven’t gotten to ours yet. I submitted mine on April 1st, but I doubt that the submission date correlates with the respond date.

I’m with you gang. Still haven’t received anything.

Just out of curiosity, what did you guys base your appeal on?

I submitted on April 2nd or 3rd

@UCLAParent123 @samkr14 IM WAITING STILL TOO ARGHHH (I submitted mine at 12:30 PM April 1st) and also @thianos based on previous threads I definitely think submission date corresponds with response date

I’m not sure it does tbh… I really think they are just waiting for their yield to see if it’s feasible to admit any appeals

This year they definitely will accept more appeals than usual. Many out of staters and internationals may decline their admissions.

@thianos Ya I agree…I think they will be accepting more appeals this year due to the number of people who applied from OOS and Internationals are declining their admission offers.

However, I also noticed a lot of in state people who got into UCLA ended up choosing USC…I think everything will work out in our favor. All we have to do right now is just wait. I know that you’re supposed to find out about your final status by June 1st. I’d def not like to wait that long so hopefully we all find out soon!

hi i’ve been lurking on this but just thought i’d let people know that i had submitted an appeal the very last day (april 15th) but was rejected april 30th. i felt like my appeal was rather strong: listed a national award and entire summer program at ucla itself that i had left out, as well as explained how i was hospitalized during the college application process for kidney problems which is why my essays were weaker than expected and also reasoning that i wanted to go to ucla to stay close to home because i have such poor health. (along with listing programs i liked at ucla and describing what i had to offer, of course!) however, i did apply as human bio & society which i hear is impacted/competitive and my stats aren’t too great. i feel a little disheartened because i’m a volunteer at ucla’s hospital (which i had to apply for) and i think i’ll be sad every time i come in now but oh well i have ucsb at least!

Ok so apparently, for waitlists, people that got off the waitlist today are majority from NorCal. People in SoCal are still on waitlist. So maybe this might be same for appeals I am not sure

@atharmony Wow. Would you like posting your appeal? From the looks of it, that appeal seems very compelling and I’m surprised they rejected you.

@atharmony Your appeal is very compelling I definitely think you will be accepted.

I think if you were facing unfortunate circumstances during the time of your application or maybe before but you forgot to include that and you appealed regarding this, you should definitely have a chance of being accepted.
