Yes I got an invite through an email. I’m directed to a portal to opt in which I did. Note: although I’m an international I do have a green card so maybe that’s why I got it since I don’t think ucla offers regents to non U.S. citizens or green card holders

Congratulations again! Does it just ask for you to opt in? Does it ask for an essay or any additional information?

Congrats but why would you be rejected when Brown hasn’t announced?

Brown (ED) means Early Decision. So she was rejected back in December!

My second year Bruin has two minors and will graduate a Q early if things go as planned. She is taking an extra class (18 units) per Q though but seems that’s pretty common, many of her friends do the same. But her major isn’t as impacted (geography & environmental studies)

I think it will depend on the major. My Bruin also came in with 11 AP’s and is tested out of the language requirement due to AP tests as she was a language immersion student.

On campus housing is guaranteed for four years. However, as a freshman you’re likely to get a classic triple (older smaller dorms, no AC) They pretty much eliminated the doubles now, most housing is a least a triple. They even have off campus UCLA owned apts that are 4 bedroom/10 people now.

Sure - she wanted to be in one of the Classic resident halls (Dykstra, Hedrick, Rieber and Sproul). These are your traditional dorm rooms with a shared bathroom on the hall. The reason she wanted this option is because these dorms are very social and primarily made up of freshmen. And it was a perfect fit for her - she’s in a great dorm on a fantastic hall and made a lot of friends this way. But other people have different requirements for what they want. Here is a good link to see all the options - Living on Campus | Housing

Thank you. And are the choices for freshmen mainly triples? Actually, triples are cheaper if it works out.

yep.. My freshman doesnt know any freshman got doubles last year.

I believe so - unless there is a medical or other authorized reason for needing a single/double. My daughter and one of her roommates initially signed up for Hitch Suites - but then realized it would be mainly upperclassmen living there. So they were able to switch back into a Classic triple.

Yes, this is true. Almost all are triples. Very limited space in a triple; but very social.

Does anyone have insight (ideally personal) into how hard the business economics pre-requisites are? Definitely has a reputation for weed out classes & not being to have business/econ is a huge concern for me OOS expecting to go into finance.

No additional information is asked from me. I got the supplemental questionnaire before the decisions came out though. They provide a unique code to log into the portal and apply for it

how can we check to see if we got regents. i just opened my financial aid portal, so would it be there?

Last year the email came in about it on Tuesday with Friday’s admission decision, just like this year. One of my friends from last year who is at UCLA now got it several days after decision announcements. There are no additional application for it. So it will come out soon and if we don’t hear from UCLA this week, then didn’t get it. BTW, I got Regents from UCSD, UCI, and UCSB, so I am very anxious to get it from UCLA too! Good luck! Anyone else already got it this year, please let us know!

You would have gotten an email soon after acceptance to invite to apply.
