UCLA Class of 2029 Official Thread

What are the chances of still receiving the email from UCLA for supplemental info? My D25 didn’t get one but wonder if it is mandatory.

The supplemental/augmented review usually targets less than 10% of the applicants and most likely all emails have been sent.

Is it possible for a person to have gotten into UCLA at this point? Someone’s posted UCLA electrical engineering on a college admission decision Instagram account for 2025. Seems a little early for the UCs.

Some of the UCLA’s Master’s programs have been posting decisions. I have not seen UCLA posting Freshman or Transfer decisions this early and I have been a CC poster/follower for more than 10 years.

Just out of curiosity, what is the earliest you’ve ever seen it? (Not anticipating this year but just curious)

I have only been keeping track for the last 4 years but historically they post Freshman decisions the 3rd Friday in March.

Be careful about Instagram and Facebook groups claiming to be “official.” UCLA does not have any official Class of 20XX social media groups.

Most of the time the Class of 20XX groups are run by third parties who are trying to get your personal information. Common names used by these third parties include Humans of University and Admin Team. The Humans of University FB group for UCLA 2029 was created five years ago and has 4300 vultures (members) who are ready to grab personal data from unsuspecting parents and students.

There is a very active UCLA Parent FB group run by legitimate UCLA parents. It is called Parents of UCLA Bruins! (Run by UCLA Parents)

So, UCLA apps are down almost 3k for in-state, down a few hundred OOS, up 2.2k for international.

Do they update the Freshman admissions for 2024; the GPA seems to be the capped weighted across campuses..

The UCOP site is not updated for 2024 but the 2024 Freshman Profile for UCLA is updated with the weighted GPA admit ranges and admit rates.

S25 got an email from UCLA to apply for some recruitment scholarships. My older S22 had gotten something similar; no bearing on admissions.

My daughter received this as well. I was wondering if it meant anything.

My D23 received it, but this year her B25 did not. She had higher stats than her brother, so perhaps it may only go to a certain subset? FWIW, she was not accepted to UCLA, despite receiving it.

Thank you for catching my mistake for 2024 which is March 15, 2024 but March 17, 2023 and March 18, 2022 are correct.

I will correct my original post with the right date.

Sorry I wasnt looking at the numbers carefully enough while typing. I just meant to point out this is the year the third Friday will reset 6 days later to 3/21.

Got it. No worries. Glad someone is at least double checking the info on my posts.

S25 got the scholarship email today as well. It says that it does not constitute an offer of admission or the likelihood of admission.

Is it an email everyone gets? Meaning, is it an automated message?
