If you look at the waitlist history for the last few years, admits can go well into June. You should let it go and focus on the school you have enrolled. If you are admitted off the waitlist, then it is a nice surprise but nothing that I would count on.

They’re gonna keep rolling out progressively smaller and smaller waves until the first year class is filled.

but wont they try to fill their class till may, and post that we can let it go..?

yeah but till may there can still be big waves right?

People will get off other waitlists or drop for other reasons well into June and possibly even July- especially a state school as large as UCLA. While I wouldn’t count on it, it’s definitely possible to get in over the summer. My sister got in July a few years ago- I’m pretty sure at the end of July they send out an email

Agreed

Sure. I would honestly be more hopeful this year, especially considering just how early the waitlist opened. I don’t believe there was any other year having admits as early as April 22nd, and as of last year, the first wave was May 16th, so we are already running early by UCLA standards.

They will continue to fill the spots through July/August based on the last 3 years of waitlist information.

In 2022, UCLA closed the waitlist August 19, for 2023 and 2024, they closed it on July 31.

yeah but the chances are less post may right

Yes, as it gets farther past the May 1 SIR deadline the chances decrease. It really depends upon how many admitted waitlisted students accept their offers. Overall UCLA has the highest enrollment yield out of the UC’s which was 50% overall and 60% for IS.

is itnnotnweird tho how theres been almost zero movement for in-state social science majors? (Polisci, Public Affairs, etc.)

Probably because Social Science is one of the most popular majors in L&S, so not too many students who declined acceptance, hence no movement off the waitlist.

I find it weird that I’ve heard of very few international acceptances, when supposedly many internationals decline their offers because of aid and the immigration issues going on.

Yes but OOS had movement for the same majors so idk

+1 thought the same

I’m hoping then that the wave for IS social sciences is coming out soon :folded_hands:

Hopefully today? It’s probably because out of the 18% OOS and International student limit, OOS students are first on their list.

I’m guessing no wave today? Its past 8 A.M. PT and i haven’t heard from anyone at all yet.
