@Rosekk They emphasize the central point for each requirement.
1/ Maintain GPA.
2/ Complete the courses, focused on those subjects they listed below.
That’s what I see it.

Ucb or ucla?
@bibihcmvn I won’t but I will finish it in the summer and they say it will transfer still as its not a major requirement!
@GoodAfternoonSir just make sure it doesn’t sound like a sob story; i’m surprised that uc irvine didn’t accept you right away
@Rayyhzms Thanks. It releases my stress. Last night I stayed up just to read all people’s experience with UCLA admission department. More hope that they will allow me to take 1 course in summer to fulfill IGETC.
@GoodAfternoonSir bragging about cheating and then posting that up here? Holy cow. Good luck with the appeal. Hope the UCs didn’t read that.
I feel for you. There are finite spots at UCLA so some get in but lots do not. Looks like you did all you could and at some point you gotta let it go and move on. Good luck.

I understand that you guys wish the best for me and my health, that’s why you’re saying that it’s fine and not the end of the world if I didn’t get into these institutions. But you gotta understand that I’ve gone through hell and back just to have the chance to apply to these colleges. I have stayed hungry for 8+ hours at a time just to work in the library and do what I can to prove I can take the heat. As I said before, I enjoy a challenge, but I also like to have my efforts rewarded at least. So, I will try to appeal and judging by the comments given by my mentor, it seems to me that I do have a chance to show what I’m truly made of.
At the end of the day, I’m just a 19 year old kid who wants to fix my problems by working hard in life. I wouldn’t want to have it any other way because the experiences we receive by doing things the honorable and more importantly, the right way just puts a smile on my face.
@Ohm888 You didn’t read my whole post. I said that I knew something was completely legitimate and legal that the chancellor and the admissions department themselves did not know about which I did that allowed me to take above the maximum load of 24 units.
Perhaps I should’ve made that clearer in my post. It is absolutely dishonorable to cheat in general and undermines your own integrity in the end.
I had no intentions of “bragging”. I was just sharing my experiences so you guys can have a better picture of me and the reasons why I would like to enroll in these institutions, that’s all
@neilsola It won’t. It will focus on my accomplishments in spring 2019 and talk about a few discrepancies in my application that were caused by unfortunate circumstances.
Hey! Does anyone know if we’re committing to UCLA are we allowed to take classes over the summer? I want to take 2 more classes so I don’t have to take as many classes during quarters. They aren’t important just unit fillers. Would they still transfer over?
I know I’m a few days late, but I was at work when I found out, and I still wanted to post my stats
Accepted!!!
3.78 cumulative GPA; 3.33 major GPA
Accepted as a philosophy major
Completed all prereqs, IGETC, and submitted TAP
Congrats to everyone who also got accepted!
Does anyone know how adding a double major works? I know there’s a unit cap so I checked and doing the requirements for both majors fits within that but I’m concerned about timing. I think I would need an extra quarter or two to finish. Does anyone know if that’s allowed or if there’s some sort of petition process??
Hello Everyone, I have been receiving information that my post saying I “cheated the system” may have consequences for me in the long run. I would like to straighten things out.
Note: This is concerning Post #4799
When I said I “cheated the system”, I was implying that I found something in the system that allowed me to complete more units than normal informed I could do.
Let me clarify this,
So while the normal limit is 18, this may be overridden with a petition that can allow up to 6 more units (24) within a normal fall or spring semester. However, keep in mind that the units of the classes in progress act as the sole determinant of how many units you can complete at a time. This way after a class finishes, the units in progress are set back and more classes can be filled. The previous class still counts overall but doesn’t have any influence over how many units you’re taken in progress as the class is essentially “done” and a grade has been posted. So in my case, I was enrolled in 22 units within the community college district and had an 8-week class that was completed on March 19th. As said previously, completing this class set my units in progress at 19 was still retaining my cumulative unit count at 22. Therefore I could enroll in another 3 unit class, putting my units in progress back to 22, while setting my cumulative count to 25.
So, I hope I have clarified things and I hope everyone gets this message.
Has anyone bought any UCLA merch yet?
I am also wondering the same question @halpmehxd asked. I heard it’s hard at UCLA, so hearing the answer would be helpful.
@stressexpress pls let me know if you find any info ?
@halpmehxd so far, my research only got me as far as understanding that getting classes for both majors would be hard (considering how hard it is to get classes for even one major). The other thing is having the prereqs for the second major, and if your second major is impacted, it’s very unlikely to be able to double major. I want to hear from somebody who has experienced it or knows more info though! I’m planning on adding english as my second major!
@GoodAfternoonSir the people waitlisted to Hass will still have priority before appeals and that’s another thing to consider, but I’m darn proud of you. I hope your appeal is successful.
@GoodAfternoonSir can you provide your appeal service in the dm to me. My friend got rejected from ucla and wants to appeal but doesn’t know where to start
Is the Regents scholarship application due today or tomorrow. I’m getting mixed dates from different people and UCLA scholarship office wont pick up my call.
