@Bibihcmvn yes I realize the send official transcript through fall is last on the step 1 list of action items. But within the entire 8 items of “step1” things to do they are broken down by deadline date. 3 of them to be done immediately. One ( review immunization requirements ) actually specifies specifically as “before” you accept offer of admission. Then goes on to list 4 items to do by june1. Obviously applying for honors program or housing isn’t something a person would do if they hadn’t accepted their admission offer and have the June 1 deadline as well. Among the things to be done immediately they have view your provisional financial aid award letter. Then listed after that is view your admission contract. I’m sure it makes no difference which is viewed first? No crime committed by viewing those out of the suggested order on this list I wouldn’t think. Both say immediately. I think there is just a difference of opinion on this transcript thing. Waiting to send it until after attending the May 11th transfer Bruin day and making a final decision willl for some people put them at risk of not getting that transcript in on time. But I see what you guys are saying that it is last on the step 1 items. Just don’t agree that it’s not ok to send that now and SIR May 12th or whatever. My daughter is going to call them today and ask if this was a mistake to have sent it yesterday prior to SIR. But again, not trying to break any rules or cause issues for hard working admissions staff at all. No ill will intended.
@sugarcane1 Before you read the whole list, did you read the first sentence they summarize Step 1? “Step 1: Accept admission.”
@sugarcane1 when I study English, my professor taught me how to address the point in each paragraph quickly, so the first sentence is the main point.
Nothing is a crime here. Do not need to be that serious reaction.
Nice day.
who cares if you submit transcript first…why was everyone okay with people the admissions office to ask for decision dates but not okay with sending in transcript? smh…
@Bibihcmvn no serious reaction…its just an expression.
has anyone submitted an updated schedule change to ucla? and have you heard back yet??
@americajm I have and they said they are currently reviewing my application and will inform me of any status changes.
@Bibihcmvn thank you. ?
@jjang25 not to belabor this point but they have thousands upon thousands of applicants, those admitted, and then those who SIR. Different committees handle different areas. It is common sense to send transcripts AFTER you’ve committed and been relegated to a certain pile where there are people there following a checklist and posting to a portal that has slots for certain information. Sending it when you’re still in the limbo stage or wanting to tour the campus first before committing is anyone’s choice, I guess.
@lilii99 does your CCC send electronic transcripts? Most do these days. Also just do it that Monday and alert UCLA that the request was done right after Transfer Day. No one is going to get rescinded over a few days here or there.
I realize it’s a dumb plan they set forth starting about two years ago. I was sure it would fail and be reversed. And here’s a perfect example. People freaking out (legitimately) because they want to see the campus before they decide, but most CCCs take at least two weeks to get transcripts out— not always, but often and Transfer Day is two weeks before the deadline. This is 100% UCLA’s fault
Ideally, you have an electronic option, solely for peace of mind.
Anyone else here admitted to UCLA but still waiting to hear back from USC?
@transfer2019stu I was admitted to UCLA but am also waiting to hear back from USC before I commit anywhere. I am an out of state student, so USC would be more generous with financial aid. Although, I am blessed that UCLA offered me a pretty nice package for being OOS.
@vegastransfer congrats! I hope you get good news from SC. What’s your major?
I’m in state so it’s likely that UCLA will be a better move for me in terms of UCLA’s more affordable tuition, but who knows, maybe I’ll get a scholarship at USC.
I submitted a change of course request on Monday at 11:30am. I withdrew from a course I didnt need. On Tuesday at around Noon, I got an email from an admission officer informing me that my admission status did not change. SUPER suprised to get word in one day when I was told to anticipate a 15 working day wait.
@mpineda3247 Im still waiting although the last time I edited was Saturday.
Congratulations!
@transfer2019stu i’m waiting on usc too…idk which school to pick if i’m accepted tho :\
@Duvergay @vegastransfer There is a good chance that USC might send you a Spring Grade Request. I talked to the USC admissions office and they told me because of the Admissions Scandal, they are under pressure and scrutiny. As a result, USC has been sending out a bunch of spring grade requests, even to those who have extremely high GPA’s. Normally in years past they only sent them to students who they were unsure about. Apparently it also gives them more time to truley evelaute your application while notifying you that haven’t forgotten about you. They also seem to be undermanned at the moment due to legal issues. So chances are you might not hear back from them until July. Hopefully that’s not the case for you and instead recieve a decision before May 31st.
Hey does any know when we will hear back about the Regent Scholarship. I feel like I saw it somewhere but I forgot.
Is UCLA going to send a welcome packet before Bruin day?
