Hi guys. I dropped a course back in february (third week of the semester) which was a class I didn’t really need for my major. It wouldn’t put me under 60 units either. After this semester I’m actually at 61 units lol. Should I be ok? I just submitted my change to them earlier this evening.
Is anyone able to see which credits will transfer yet?
@Rosekk did you submit your official transcripts yet? If not, I don’t think you’ll be able to see which courses transfer. Also, where are you looking?
@8CLAP4SUP Should be fine as long as its not a pre req, wont put you under 60 units, and isnt an igetc or uc basic required classes course.
@uclaletmeinpls I haven’t yet, I’ve been looking around myUCLA, and haven’t found anything
@mpineda3247 Define “UC basic required course” lol. — Even without the class, though, I finished IGETC. It was ADM JUS 1, a psych requirement for UCI.
Hey guys.
So I accepted into Cal and UCLA.
I submitted my SIR for cal a couple weeks ago, and I had a major change of heart. I sent in a withdrawal request for Cal, and I submitted my UCLA SIR. Do you guys think this will affect my admission into UCLA now since I SIR’d two schools basically? I know I should have just been patient, and waited. But I couldn’t help myself.
@sandyboy99 You will be fine. Plenty of students SIR to other schools and then change later on. I did this same thing with UNLV (my local safety) before I got into UCLA and USC. I just called and let them know that I will be attending another school.
@vegastransfer Thanks for the response. This calmed my nerves. I was SIR’d to both schools for about a week before I submitted a request to withdraw my SIR from UC Berkeley. It’s currently processing. I just hope they don’t screw me over for that one week. I’m going to call them tomorrow morning, so I make sure it gets processed ASAP. Do you think I should contact UCLA and let them know or just let things be from now on?
Edit: These are two UC’s, and you’re only allowed to be SIR’d to 1. I read of people SIR’ing to 3 schools and getting away with it. I just get super nervous about possibly being the unlucky one.
@sandyboy99 nope. Nada.
Normally until July, UC will ask you to choose only one or all are cancelled. Then you will choose one. From now until then, you still have time to withdraw your SIR. Dont worry
Okay thanks, everyone. I already submitted my withdrawal request for Cal. I live in LA, so I’m going to save a ton of money. Cal was my dream school but I plan on going to grad school, so maybe I’ll just have my dreams later. Haha!
Hey All, Heading out to Bruin day next Sat…was there ever a welcome packet sent?
@JustTakeMe my daughter hasn’t received a welcome packet in the mail as of yet and she is also going to Bruin transfer day on Sat. the 11th. I’m sure the welcome package will arrive soon.
@8CLAP4SUP If you have finished igetc, then yes you totally have the “UC basic required courses". IGETC isnt required but they still want to make sure you have this basic set of a few classes. You dont have to worry about it if igetc is gone.
general question.
which one is better for Pre med? UCLA or Berkeley? and why
There is no premed major in UCB unfortunitely… https://admissions.berkeley.edu/pre-med
there is no pre med at all. undergraduate in any bio related majors can be pre med( biochemistry, biology, near,…) @JustTakeMe
are any other admitted students getting overwhelmed by all the stuff we have to do to attend ucla lol
Urgent question!! for the alumni scholarship it says “At the time they apply, applicants must have completed the equivalent of 90 UC-transferable quarter units, at least half of them from community colleges.” this doesn’t include in progress units right? the requirement for admission is 90 quarter units (60 semester) finished by the end of spring not completed before spring so I’m super confused
